...one of the main thing that prevent me for enjoying it is the lack of proper triple screen support...
From my experience R3E has the best triples support I've seen to date. Sure, you have to do the Nvidia surround thing, do some measurements and type in a game launch argument, but I've had moments driving in traffic in this game when I've been straight up blown away by how realistic the depth and scaling looks.
No stretching or weird distortion anywhere to be found.

Well on one hand it is nice that you get more free stuff now, on the other hand, I wonder if those of us who paid for Sepang would get a refund for it.
It probably is fair but it's a disincentive to buy into the sim for me. I would have to think about what cars and tracks I actually want and that means dedicating some time to thinking about it all.
Actually, the packs are the best options, as you get the stuff a lot cheaper than in single packs.
I started with the ADAC GT Master's series, which I got for a Tenner in a Shop a few years ago. It's still good value for money, as it means that you will get those tracks discounted from any pack that you buy with them. Which made the DTM packs and later ADAC GT Packs cheaper, as well as the European Track Pack.
Aside from that the Car packs are very good value for money, and you might find yourself surprised at enjoying a car that you never thought you'd drive.

Admittedly I don't drive it as often as the other sims, mostly because it's missing a few of my favourite tracks like Le Mans, and I have other sims that do most of it pretty well. Classic F1 is covered well by AMS 2 for example, CART is hella fun and well there are other options who have full day/night cycle and dynamic weather for Group 5 and 90's GT1. If I want to drive GTE or GT3 I have several other sims including ACC to do that, with the aforementioned dynamic weather and day/night Cycle.
Which is what hacks me the most off about R3E, that the weather and daytime, which play a big role in real racing are missing. Having those two things adds so much to racing, so much umpredictability and fun. Another problem is the lack of vintage Circuits for the Vintage Cars, it is so much fun to drive a Group 5 Car around 1970 Le Mans, old Monza (oval+GP), old Spa, old Silverstone and old Hockenheim, all of which you can do in that much maligned piece of Software called Pcars 2. Which is not that bad for vintage circuits, although AMS 2 is better, with a lot more variants of several Vintage Tracks. Sadly no Group 5 there yet. And I do hope they get the Le Mans License....hmm on that note I would love to see Group 4 in a Sim.

What I like the most about R3E is the old V8 DTM, FRX-17, FRX-90 (oh that V12, you can drive as bad as you want but still have a massive grin on your face), Group5, IMSA GTO and 1992 DTM.

The problem that R3E has, is that except for the V8 DTM (unless I buy a certain AC payware mod), for any other class there is a sim that offers me the option of playing it with day/night Cycle and dynamic weather, as well as a dynamic track in certain cases. Maybe not always as good in some regards, but overall great and much more fun. That is what makes AMS 2 great @Kveilkur the Graphics are nice to have, but it's the underlying features like the influence of the day/night cycle on air and surface temperatures, which in turn influence tire, brake and engine temps etc. , as well as the dynamic track which not only includes the rubber and marbles, but the effects of rain on the surface as well.

And I'd have to agree with @Andy Kettler AC would not be where it was, if it wasn't for the mods, including SOL and the misnamed CSP. It's big strength now is the ability to drive anything you can think of anywhere, with weather now.
If you look closely at what CSP does to the simulation in AC, it's staggering, it improves the Aero simulation, the tire Simulation and the systems simulation to a degree that it's not really comparable to the AC of old. It's basically like the old FSX was, it was a great sim, after the devs basically only used it as a front end for their own simulation running in the background.

Honestly, if I had to choose between better graphics for R3E and day/night cycle+Weather, I would choose the latter, as it would offer more options to enjoy it. I still play Falcon BMS 4.35, despite DCS looking better, and to a degree sounding better. Why? Well the AI is smarter, the dynamic campaign is a blast and the "world" ingame feels alive. It's also known for throwing some serious curveballs at you, like getting informed of an enemy Fighter Sweep incoming while you are on your way to a DEAD (Destruction of Enemy Air Defenses) mission, when you have to decide between dropping your payload and facing off against them or evading. Also the Viper (Read F-16) FM is great, better than DCS, as well as Systems Simulation. The DCS Viper is not fully featured yet.
R3E sounds great, drives nice, but the world feels......sterile and dead.

I gave this a proper spin today. Outside from the severely outdated graphics on some elements, it feels quite good to drive. I need to spend more time here. Thanks for the reminder!

Actually, I was just thinking about this a few days ago when I started flying BMS again. Both AC and Falcon 4.0 have been made into the most accurate simulators by a large margin in their respective category via user-made modifications that have professional engineers working on them. On top of that the features are free to use and not behind a license or a paywall. Well, apart from rain currently; but I don't consider it a core Cphys feature to be honest.

BMS of course has over a decade of legacy behind it so it's not quite comparable to CSP right now overall; but I do wonder where CSP might be in 5 more years if development continues. Will AC also receive very compelling multiplayer and AI features? It's a stretch but so were most of BMS's current features when it started.

This is why we sim-racers can't have nice things...we can't even agree on whether VR performs well or not :roflmao:
(I don't have VR; so no dog in this fight)
:roflmao:
It now runs ok with my computer (Ryzen 5800X, 32GB RAM, 2080 RTX) but I'd say that my computer also is not a slouch either. Remember: I'm speaking of VR performance, not pancake mode. However before that with my 3600X it was a borderline experience running VR with Raceroom.

Not just VR. 1080p as well. When you are so severly CPU (single core) bound as in R3E it doesn't matter really how it's displayed.

Patiently waiting for the surprise Christmas build to drop that brings the long awaited Unreal engine.

Since GTR3 is canned they said roughly 5-6 yrs ago they would move the game to that engine shortly after.
What better time than now?! :)

Please Sector3 don't crush my Christmas dreams lol

P.S.....ill settle with DX11 which you also mentioned many moons ago.

Just an observation but it's definitely not up to this sites usual journalistic standards. It reads like a press release. No mention of any problems or upside, no personal opinions, no relating peoples previous experiences of the game. .

Bear in mind that your's is one of the few sites on permanent adblock white list
Thanks for highlighting the adblock whitelisting: Done !

Having actually raced at WG this summer, I can't see where spending an additional $10 per month will net benefits over the excellent RRRE version and very good AMS2 version. (I had issues with missing landmarks on AMS2, but they got the bump on the inside line halfway through the carousel.) The gap between reality and sim is far greater than the gap between AMS2/RRRE and whatever iR's laser scanning can provide. Basically with iR, I don't have enough free time in a week to justify the $10 a month.
Just FYI, but iRacing really only costs about $3 USD per month. A couple of times per year you can buy 12 months for $75, and then you get $10 per quarter in credits for participating in official series. So $35 per year - a very good deal for what you get IMO.

Personnellement j'aime ce genre de jeu où l'on paie ce que l'on veut à l'unité ou en pack et en plus le moteur graphique est magnifique et les voitures aussi.
;)

To whom it may concern: I am surprised to hear so many people complain about paid content, when the truth is they are buying content that has been tested and is bug free. If someone was to describe me, they would most likely say I am a Sim Racing Fanatic. I have well over 14,000 hrs in the chair. In my opinion companies that put sims out before they are completed and tested has left a negative taste in my wallet. This is not the case when buying content from RD. I've done countless hours in other sims and my money seems better spent in RD. Thanks for all your hard work. XtreamStealth

Raceroom is no different than any other title and has had it's share of issues/bugs along the way.
