Have to give Andyandy989898's tyre mods a shout-out here.

Complete game changers from the base game, which sees a variety of strategies throughout the field. Not to mention how you can feel a soft tyre suddenly fall off a cliff, a hard tyre get better through a stint and a medium which is just in the sweet spot.

He also added the engine overheating when following a car for a period of time, which means you have to get out of the slipstream and let it cool down, or risk problems later on.

I don't have any numbers or proof, but I would suspect Console sales far outweigh PC. ergo, Consoles stay.

To put you in good spirits

12th on that list does not take into account how many versions 1 person downloads
example:
Mod 1 has over 10,000 downloads for one version
Mod 2 has over 4,000 downloads for one version
Mod 3 has over 7,000 downloads for one version

So depends how you look at it
P.S. ie: click on History tab for each mod

Just curious about your opinion, why would it be beneficial to have full mod support for an annual release?

I miss the VR, sim physics and classic cars mods. Without those mods I don”t even consider buying F1 20XX.

It never had any of these.
But setting everything on hard it's still a hand full getting up to speed.
Physics aint that bad.

I have played F1 2019 but I was disappointed with the physics and the fact that all (modern) F1 cars felt the same and on rails. I felt driving F1 cars in F1 2019 was not about car handling, but all about reaction time.

Maybe F1 2021/2022 is better in that regard, I don't know.

In my opinion it became better it terms of driving each year. Around F1 2018-2019 the cars felt much heavier and lazier than F1 2020-2021. Physics-wise it's not as hardcore of course but you get an offline F1 racing experience that is unparalleled so far. I enjoy it very much with a wheel.

This is my experience, please commenters share yours as well, but when I drive similar spec cars I usually don't feel any significant difference between them. Sure I feel that one might be more agile that the other, but driving them all to my limit feels kind of the same, only the laptime changes.

I always wonder how people know what driving a modern F1 car should feel like.

Funnier than that is reading the mental gymnastics to justify how the official iRacing mercedes is faster than the real life one, has more grip and is more on rails than the codemasters counterpart.

You can see some really creative ways of saying that the iRacing one is more "realistic", despite all the data, and the usual arguments pointing otherwise...

And mind you, its not just random forum users doing it, but the biggest simracing "youtubers" as well.

If I had to guess, I'd say most sims don't properly model the extreme effects of downforce. Even at 100 mph, an F1 car effectively weighs as much as a GT3 car. Since GT3 cars don't randomly become unsettled and spin if you touch a kerb, there's no reason why F1 cars should do it either.
