TechArt Launches Official GTstreet R Mod for Assetto Corsa

Sports cars are an exclusive matter, even more so if they are produced in extremely limited quantitites. The TechArt GTstreet R is no exception - yet, sim racers can still get their hands on the lightweight rocked based on a Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S in Assetto Corsa: TechArt has released an official mod of the car for the simulator.

Despite the GTstreet R being road legal, its specs read like those of a track day car: Close to 800 bhp mean top speeds of about 350 kph (217 mph) combined with lightweight body parts, interior and wheels show that the car means business. The GTstreet R is limited to just 87 examples, so driving, let alone owning one will remain a dream for most.

All of the Fun for None of the Cost

Luckily, sim racing allows enthusiasts and motorsport fans to drive just about anything anywhere, and with the official GTstreet R mod, the high-tech aero monster that used to be a Porsche can even be pounded around the Nürburgring, for example - all without having to worry about astronomical cost and repair bills.

Unlike the real car, the Assetto Corsa mod is entirely free. It comes with a variety of body colors and configurations, and has been fine-tuned to match the characteristics of the real vehicle as closely as possible.

You can grab the official mod on the TechArt website by scrolling almost all the way down to the bottom of the website and learning about the car along the way.

Your Thoughts

How do you like the more extreme version of the 911 Turbo? Would you like to see more manufacturers release their cars virtually as well? Let us know in the comments below!

Ah, I see. You were responding to something that was a response to something else, but were not seemingly intending to be a part of what was responded to. I guess...

Not sure how RD is supposed to be in every mods group to see stuff like that.

what ever

I'm glad something simple in life can make you feel superior.
To be more helpful, I can indeed advise you to take some time to install content manager and csp and sol. I had been reluctant for months to do it because of the apparent non user friendly menus but, like you, after seeing that most of the recent mods required them I made the move. It wasn't that atrocious. Installation is simple. Setting everything right is a bit more complicated but not as much as it seems. Basically you just have to go through every menu and every box, and you will get an explanation for each parameter. You won't get lost. I advise you to watch some tutorials (many are available in videos) to get the right information about the graphics settings.

Apart from that it is just a drag and drop process for the mods (careful, if you put too much of them at the same time, some are skipped ; I generally put less than 10 mods at the same time which makes the checking after installation easier).

And be aware that with the free version of content manager, you won't be able to use some of the WIP advanced features (the rain).

It's a bit boring to set everything up, but it is not impossible, you just have to dedicate some time on it, and it is worth this time. After that, it is absolutely a pleasure to set a car / track combo, really fast and easy, you'll never go back to the old AC's interface, and you won't ever seen them. I must admit that the Content manager menus are a bit old fashioned, there are a lot of information and parameters on each page ; they suit me very well though, as I usually prefer that type of presentation. Don't expect clean menus as those of Project cars 2 for example. They may be not clean but they are clear and that's what is important.

Do yourself a favor, invest some time in installing these mods. You don't know what you miss until you start to use them. And good luck on that. ;)

by GUERILLA Mods!!!

Looks amazing! They did really good job!!! Visually!!! Driving is not that great. Don't get me wrong it is good but I have expected more like GT3 like experience (not 100% ofc) and car is understeering like a B....

Great mod. Drive very well and precisely. If you go too far with the speed in the corner, there is a slight understeer. The truth is, I still can't get used to how its look.
