New week, new content - that seems to be RaceRoom's motto, as the latest content for the sim has dropped on a Monday. With the March 25 update, which features a tiny changelog you can find below, the Circuit de Pau-Ville makes its way into RR. We have already covered the track's history in some detail, and are looking forward to taking to the French street circuit.

RaceRoom - March 25 2024 Changelog

  • New content: Circuit de Pau-Ville
  • New content: Ferrari 296 GT3 in the GTR3 car class, with 19 liveries
  • Indianapolis 2012 - Fixed a harsh cut detection
  • Sachsenring - Moved Time Attack spawn location earlier in the lap

Pau will set you back €6.98, making the classic track one of the more expensive ones on RaceRoom. Only the Nürburgring-Nordschleife tops the circuit at €7.97, coming with four layout versions. Just like the real track had just one variant since 1935, so does the virtual one in RR.

The other content addition actually is not entirely new. Already part of the DTM 2023 Pack and corresponding class, the Ferrari 296 GT3 is now available for the GTR3 class (RaceRoom's designation for GT3) as well. The update adds 19 liveries from various series the car is run in, like IMSA or the NLS.

The GTR3 variant of the Ferrari costs exactly the same as its DTM cousin at €5.98. The price will get you the car plus one livery of your choice - any additional design can be had for €0.29. Alternatively, you can grab the car and all available liveries for €9.57.

I´ll buy everything new. I have my VRP´s prepaid on discount.I recommend to buy VRP from Raceroom shop.
But as the day moves on to its end i see that Raceroom website is still in maintenance. "Speed" seems not to be their competence.

I've experienced "water infiltration" once (caused by a broken hot water pipe.) It was horrible!

I grabbed it. I haven't ran Pau a lot since RacePro on the XB360 Pau is just as tricky as I remember it, except I remember a chicane near the start/finish line.

Right now I am having some HDR issues with my PC. SDR games are all overly bright and washed out. I'm trying to figure out why this is happening. Its making Raceroom look like Candyland.

I think the work they do with this sim is commendable, I just don't get time to play it as much as other sims, so as a result unlikely to purchase this particular DLC, however, If they created a premium+ bundle that would allow you to catch up with the DLC your missing (having purchased Premium many years ago) I would be open to buying that and supporting the Devs that way.

the discount we get via premium is "steal" basically, but there should be some additional option if u already bought premium package and want to always have everything because it gets too expensive at times tbh, especially if u want to buy every car with every livery etc
some premium+ for idk what price where u will get all content forever would be great option - some people has something like that I think some video contest winners got this kind of "deal" few times, also beta testers that has all content for free (where I can apply btw lmao)

beta testers dont get content for free they get content to test

and if 5000+hours of testing for a few hundred euros of content is free to you ; i need a cleaner for my house ; you will access to all of the cleaning stuff forever ...

I'm not ecstatic about Raceroom's pricing strategy these days.
At €6.99 (699 VRP) this track is now the second most expensive one on RR's roster, even though it only features one layout and isn't called the Nordschleife.
On the car front, buying new models by "topping off" a car class that you own most of is now gone (at least in the popular GT3 and GT4 classes) and the all livery packs can amount to prices close to €10 (Ferrari 296 GT3), which is borderline iRacing category.
Add to that the fact that there seems to be no movement on the 'Frankensteined' digital dash area and I don't feel all that inclined to send any more funds KW's way, as much as I feel there's still a lot to like about the sim.

people want ferrari in the game , and ferrari said yes but if i guess correctly ; they also wanted no linked discounts and a hefty veto of if the cars could be added to packs etc
so im guessing ferrari is more expensive because ferrari wanted a bigger cut

Andi

If that is true, then why is the (single livery) 296 one euro more expensive than the 488 EVO?
There's also the fact that the all livery packs for the Audi R8 LMS EVO II and the BMW M4 cost over €8.
While a unique presence in official sim DLC form, Pau-Ville is a Monaco type track (without the Monaco status) that seems very unsuited for overtaking and will likely not see very much racing action once the novelty wears off.
Its tight and twisting nature also looks to frustrate simple hotlappers like me who want their fair share of pedal to the metal in stead of constant brake-and-go.

It just seems to me that since the closer involvement of KW the approach to Raceroom's pricing has changed to the detriment of buyers, while the needed substantial improvements in core areas look to be either dangled like carrots or not on the horizon at all.
