December is going to see the RaceRoom DTM 2023 Pack come to the sim, including two new GT3 cars and the new tire model. Both will release in December.

It has been a while since RaceRoom has seen new content. Technical problems prevented the developers from implementing new cars and tracks such as the planned Circuit de Pau-Ville. These problems are seemingly resolved, as the DTM 2023 Pack is going to launch alongside the planned tire update in December 2023.

Far from the first DTM season to feature in RaceRoom, the 2023 pack introduces two all-new GT3 vehicles to the sim. Having made its on-track debut in 2023, the Ferrari 296 GT3 not only appeared in endurance championships around the world, but also the DTM. The successor to the 488 GT3 took the win in the first Lausitzring round in the hands of Jack Aitken. Since only two cars raced all season, Ferrari finished last in the manufacturers championship. All other models were represented with at least four cars.

The Ferrari will not be part of the Premium Pack. It is exclusively available in the DTM 2023 Pack for now.

RaceRoom 2023 DTM Pack: Next In A Long Line

Also new in the RaceRoom DTM 2023 Pack is the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II. Added to iRacing for Season 1 of 2024 as well, the car already appeared in the 2022 season on real tracks. Four Evo II models of the R8 raced in the 2023 DTM season, with Ricardo Feller securing third in the drivers championship. Additionally, the pack will include all other teams and cars of the 2023 DTM season - save for Lamborghini, which is missing from the announcement graphic.

Interestingly, RaceRoom skipped the 2022 DTM season for its content. A new streak of continuous DTM packs available will have to wait as a result. Currently, the 1992, 2013 to 2016, the 2020 and the 2021 seasons are available. To add, Mercedes models from 1995, 2003 and 2005 round out the roster.

An exact release date for the update including the new tire model and RaceRoom DTM 2023 Pack is not known yet. It may well be possible that it will launch ahead of Christmas for sim racers to enjoy during the holidays.

This was my favorite goto racegame and i bought every DLC until recently, but....

The game engine really needs an update. VR performance is still way too much depended on single CPU performance and a RTX4090 is pretty useless. It has been like this for years and it's time to move on ( sad face )

I feel sad saying that i will not purchase this dlc.
Raceroom is a great game, but there is just to much alternative.
I stopped purchasing dlc for rfactor 2 ( i will purchase le mans ultimate) and raceroom.
I keep on enjoying all the content i already own.
I didn´t purchased EA WRC because i enjoy dirt rally 2 and of course RBR .
I stopped purchasing the F1 game .

With sound, tracks, cars, ai and ffb feeling, raceroom is unique ;).
I have every dlc in every game ;) only iRacing doesn't hype me

All the things I didn't buy.
Thanks for sharing with the group. :D

Id love old school DTM seasons at some point full grids of mid, late 90s would be amazing. Even filling in the gaps from the 2010+ seasons would be sweet. Ill still get this, but older DTM is where its at.

BTCC would be cool too!

I hope you don't feel sad for long. I also won't be buying the DLC either. For far too long the game has been used (IMHO) as a platform to milk their supporters. That sounds a little strongly worded, but we are all adults - and you get my point.

Many devs do not read or care about our comments/suggestions for improvements. But when they can see in their sales spreadsheets that many have stopped buying more DLC's, the devs "WILL" get with the message that it's time to make this completely outdated package an experience that should be fit for 2024 and the years that follow.

I look forward to KW Studio's updating the whole simulator - I'm tired of dry day/fine racing in RRE.

In 2024 all the big players will run with rain and day/night. AC2 early access will land too in the summer. Hopefully, KWS will drag RRE kicking and screaming up to date asap. To be fair, the engine needed a complete overhaul since 4 years ago lol.

Once the sim offers rain/night, I'll support new dlc for the next 10 years, like I have the last 10.

Without the Lamborghini, it’s not a faithful recreation of the 2023 season. Any reason why it’s missing? Does Lamborghini have an exclusive licensing agreement with another studio?

I love Raceroom, it's by far my most played SimRacing title, but I've recently gotten into rFactor 2 and a bit of AMS2 (from Black Friday sales) and I'm now just spending less time in Raceroom as some of the aged elements of the title are getting quite hard to look past now. Realistic 24 hour time cycles, dynamic weather & track conditions, and accurately modelled tracks are standard features nowadays, which RR obviously sadly lacks. If some tracks alone could be brought up to laser-scanned standards and the sometimes weird track-to-car scaling issues fixed then that'd make enough difference to keep the title relevant enough, but that hasn't happened and let's face it won't happen at this stage of it's life.

If you assess RR for what it is then it's great fun, but maybe just don't play RR on the same day / night after playing pretty much any other racing game as direct comparisons just don't fare well nowadays. I'll still play old racing games if they're fun to play, but sometimes the jank is a bit jarring and I'd rather prefer to move with the times and experience modern titles with all their modern features. It's not 2013 anymore!

I get that RR probably doesn't generate much revenue (going by Steam player-count data) so the devs are possible stuck between a rock and a hard place, but even from just a business perspective they've really got to make significant strides forward before long otherwise the title will fade away into the realm of being a classic / retro SimRacing game.

That all said, I'll use their "try before you buy" system and give these new cars a spin, and I'll purchase the content (if they're worthy) to support the devs. Hopefully the tyre improvements will prove worthy too and give the title a new(er) lease of life.

I'd agree with this - I spent time on RRRE and really got into it. As a game, I think it sits more as an evolution of PCars2 than anything, which is not putting it down at all.
But certainly more than many games you have to learn its peculiarities to really enjoy it.

It's getting as much airtime for me as AMS2 is, but they're very different experiences for sure.

Great that we have this choice and there's actual investment going into making these games deeper and broader.

I will go after the Pau track, but nothing more.

For years I defended the engine because it runs smoothly and runs VR nicely and stable even with many cars on track, and generally does its job reliably and well, but even I stopped defending it some longer time ago. For too long they have not read the signs on the wall, or ignored it. They need to get the switch to a new engine done. Its overdue.

AC, ACC and RR being my race sims of choice. VR exclusively.

At some point I was hoarding all content being released for R3E, until realized that I barely play it. The game is fairly polished, has great selection of cars and tracks, but second grade physics and FFB combined with lees than inspiring graphics always pushes it to "will play later" category. :(
