RaceRoom DTM 2023 Pack To Launch Alongside Tire Update

December is going to see the RaceRoom DTM 2023 Pack come to the sim, including two new GT3 cars and the new tire model. Both will release in December.

It has been a while since RaceRoom has seen new content. Technical problems prevented the developers from implementing new cars and tracks such as the planned Circuit de Pau-Ville. These problems are seemingly resolved, as the DTM 2023 Pack is going to launch alongside the planned tire update in December 2023.

Far from the first DTM season to feature in RaceRoom, the 2023 pack introduces two all-new GT3 vehicles to the sim. Having made its on-track debut in 2023, the Ferrari 296 GT3 not only appeared in endurance championships around the world, but also the DTM. The successor to the 488 GT3 took the win in the first Lausitzring round in the hands of Jack Aitken. Since only two cars raced all season, Ferrari finished last in the manufacturers championship. All other models were represented with at least four cars.

The Ferrari will not be part of the Premium Pack. It is exclusively available in the DTM 2023 Pack for now.

RaceRoom 2023 DTM Pack: Next In A Long Line

Also new in the RaceRoom DTM 2023 Pack is the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II. Added to iRacing for Season 1 of 2024 as well, the car already appeared in the 2022 season on real tracks. Four Evo II models of the R8 raced in the 2023 DTM season, with Ricardo Feller securing third in the drivers championship. Additionally, the pack will include all other teams and cars of the 2023 DTM season - save for Lamborghini, which is missing from the announcement graphic.

Interestingly, RaceRoom skipped the 2022 DTM season for its content. A new streak of continuous DTM packs available will have to wait as a result. Currently, the 1992, 2013 to 2016, the 2020 and the 2021 seasons are available. To add, Mercedes models from 1995, 2003 and 2005 round out the roster.

An exact release date for the update including the new tire model and RaceRoom DTM 2023 Pack is not known yet. It may well be possible that it will launch ahead of Christmas for sim racers to enjoy during the holidays.

This was my favorite goto racegame and i bought every DLC until recently, but....

The game engine really needs an update. VR performance is still way too much depended on single CPU performance and a RTX4090 is pretty useless. It has been like this for years and it's time to move on ( sad face )
Pretty much the same here. 4070 ti, single 27 in screen. i get 40 fps in RRE on some tracks; 100-120 fps high setting ACC and AMS2. Sad b/c I like many of the cars and tracks it has.

At some point as was hoarding all content being released for R3E, until realized that I barely play it. The game is fairly polished, has great selection of cars and tracks, but second grade physics and FFB combined with lees than inspiring graphics always pushes it to "will play later" category. :(
I can only disagree, with a simucube 2 pro you immediately notice how raceroom is superior in ffb and physics, particulary the suspension, and understand why the pros use it....

Without the Lamborghini, it’s not a faithful recreation of the 2023 season. Any reason why it’s missing? Does Lamborghini have an exclusive licensing agreement with another studio?
With Lamborghini being in other sims for many years - I can only think it's due to reasons I've seen online. Paying the fee for the Lamborghini license, eats away at Raceroom's desired profit-margins...

For much of the old/classic content, that isn't so much of an issue. For modern content packs, for some people, it could well be an issue. Especially with Lamborghini building an LMDh package for that series, it's great to see them as committed as ever to their Motorsport projects.

I look forward to KW Studio's updating the whole simulator - I'm tired of dry day/fine racing in RRE.

In 2024 all the big players will run with rain and day/night. AC2 early access will land too in the summer. Hopefully, KWS will drag RRE kicking and screaming up to date asap. To be fair, the engine needed a complete overhaul since 4 years ago lol.

Once the sim offers rain/night, I'll support new dlc for the next 10 years, like I have the last 10.
It seems like every sim racer on the internet wants rain, day-night cycles , but when a sim actually allows it every one still races during day and dry weather.

In my case, rain is fine once in a while, but night racing is an issue for me because my eyes get tired after a while, maybe because I'm no longer a spring chicken at 58...

To be fair, I can't comment on how you will set the rain/night options in your game when you drive. It's your choice. Your statement doesn't apply to me, so whoever came up with this make-believe theory that "everyone" includes me, is talking out of their backside.

Your Simucube2 Pro must be different from mine then, it's far cry from ACC and barely at the level of AMS2.

That was indeed Simbin argument to drop the day & night cycle feature for Race07 and to drop the tain for RRE. Some figures had been communicatd to justify these decisions. I wonder what these figures are 10 years later. Are they just marketing features that almost nobody uses? Or racing in rainy conditions has been so broken for the last 10 years (except ACC and it seems now in AMS2) that players can't use the feature ?

I admit I mainly race during day time but launching a race in random conditions (or in real conditions, well done pcars2 to have lost the feature...) and then entering an event with rain is part of the enjoyment of simracing for me ; well when the AI works properly, tj1t's another point. Maybe with the adaptative AI, RRE would not struggle as much than other gamez.

RRE will receive that graphic update at one time or another, and I don't think this kind of DLC will finance the work ; it needs a full investmznt from KW. Why not asking directly to RRE users if they would pay something for that update (RRE and Steam portals, and some communication on specialized websites, would make such an operation quit easy) ? You pay you get access to the new supported version, you don't pay you stick with the previous now unsupported version. For sure it is a risky move to split a small community. But after 10 years of support, it would not be unfair to make users pay between 5 and 15 dollars/euros for a whole new modern look. And between 15 and 30 for the new look, the rain and the day & night cycle. I personnally would pay immediatly for that instead of paying for other GT3s. But I assume if KW sales this pack, it must be because GT3s are still successful among the community. By the way that Ferrari looks really good.

Premium
I pay monthly as patreon for csp and pure (assetto corsa).
Why not for a raceroom new gen patreon ?
Of course i will participate. The all thing is not just a question of money, but more where the raceroom game is, and where he wants to go.

Why did i reinstalled full moded game as RBR , GTR2, Grand Prix legends, Nascar 2003, and even netkar pro recently ???
They are not "modern", but they offer tons of fun , more than necessary for an entire life of simracing, and that for about free !!

DLC is a good thing, but we can not purchase everything, all the time for all the sims.
Raceroom must Wonder what it has to offer better as game like acc, ams2, rfactor 2, assetto corsa ,....
It seems that the answer is unfortunately nothing (any longer).

It used to be a time when we purchased the games once for all, with everything included, and then we played it hundreds of hours. Mods came from the community.
Raceroom dlc became slowly too expensive for the all package of the game. If it was coming mods like in assetto corsa, the game will be as popular. But this is not the model of free to play choosen by the studio.

They will use a new engine, we all know that the plan was GTR3 with UE, but Kunos had the licence...so Simbin and Sector 3 plans were stopped...but one day they will change the graphics, I doubt they can survive with raceroom and dx9 like they said "for the next decade"

I realised this - and ended up just buying one car for a series in some places, and then buying the 'exotic' stuff that I couldn't race elsewhere.

Case in point I bought the 2013 ADAC GT3 cars (an eclectic mix for sure!) , the 2022 DTM cars and I think the Bently GT3 - in doing that I've got a comprehensive GT3 series, and it's easy enough to save a grid and use that.

Then for one of the Porsche cup cars (I think the older one) I just bought one car, I can live with not picking the skin - I'm sat on the inside.

And a major point, you don't need to own the cars to race against them.

There is something wrong with your setup then. I get 150-200fps in RR with everything set to max. I use an RTX 3080 12gb GPU and an i5-13600k CPU. At 1440p resolution.
