Speculation has surrounded the release date of the eighth instalment of Forza Motorsport: After having initially been announced to launch in spring 2023, the release of the title has been pushed back indefinitely - until now: At the Xbox Games Showcase, October 10th has been announced for Forza Motorsport's launch, which features a first for the series.

Microsoft's answer to the Gran Turismo franchise used to be an Xbox exclusive until the release of Forza Horizon 3. The Motorsport part of the series has been available on PC since Forza Motorsport 7, but only via the Xbox store. A Steam version was never available - the upcoming game is going to change this by following in the footsteps of Forza Horizon 4 and 5, which have been among the most played games on Steam in April and May 2023, by being available in the Steam Store as well in addition to the Xbox Series X|S version.

Says someone who hasn’t tried the f-ultimate gen2 in ams2 on v1.5 physics. Come back to me once you’ve driven it.
HAHA, I have all the games, simucube, triple 1440p, single 4K, gamepad, 4090....everything...and AMS2 feeling is not for me
Like he said, it maybe be good if you are a bad driver or...
for pure sim I have iRacing, ACC and rF2, and soon FM, for the arcade I have Dirt 5 and AMS2, Forza Horizon...and nothing wrong with any game with wheel or gamepad, I dont hate AMS2, it just has to be put at his place.

How about they just remaster FM4? I loved that game beyond all measure. The music was amazing.

Premium
It will always be simcade as thats why the mass market want i guess?
If you want to go broke really fast, develop a sim.
If you wat to make big money, make an arcade game with shiny cars and just call it simulation.

The bar here is GT7, not anything from Reiza or Kunos.

triste, ils ne se soucient pas de l'utilisateur 1% VR

ams2 fanboy I guess ?
Oh, so you're the super fanboy, huh? You've got a 4090, a Simcube, a triple screen setup, and yet your favorite simulations are Forza and that F1 arcade thing, and you choose to "drive" them with a joystick instead of your superb equipment? Well, I guess we should all just throw our fancy gear out the window and stick to the basics. After all, why bother with all that expensive equipment when a joystick will do just fine?

So I get the point you're making but Kunos ain't broke. The proper statement: If you want to maximize profits, make an arcade racer and call it a sim. If you want to cater to a smaller market and generate more modest revenue, make a sim.

F1 23 is the best F1 sim and they earn a lot of money.
There are good game makers and bad game makers, if you don't earn a lot of money, the game is a fail, and you are bad, simple.

Ah! I understand now why you bought a triple screen, an expensive steering wheel, an Xbox, sorry, my mistake, not an Xbox, no, no, no, a big PC with a 4090Ti and a triple screen (you wrote it somewhere)! To play Mario Kart! Of course!!! The best simulation of all time since it's the best-selling car game! That's your reasoning, right? The best-selling, therefore the best, right or wrong?

They support VR for MSFS2020, so why not?
Because it's absolutely not the same devopper and because MSFS2020 isn't just a game but also a technological project to stream big amounts of data which aim to be used for professional purpsose.

And flight simmers are willing to put a lot of money in their hobby (in hardware and software), during years. Nothing comparable.

That doesn't mean there won't be VR but MSFS2020 and FM8 are not linked.

MSFS is made by Asobo Studios. Forza Motorsport titles are made by Turn 10 Studios. Why are you expecting two utterly unrelated studios, who don't share a single developer, to support VR just because one of them chooses to?

making a game to make 300 poor fanboys happy (like AMS2) is a fail, I'm pretty sure they dream about the Codemasters money and their milllions fans

i have single 4k 160hz too, and it's awesome on it.

I'm totally assuming it'll have VR for the PC version. This is just a guess of mine. I just feel like there's no way Microsoft won't include VR when it's main rival, GT7, has VR. Plus, it's a "next-gen" racing "sim" and by an ultra-high budget developer. I just can't see it not supporting VR on PC. Again, just what I'm thinking. No actual proof.
Let's hope it has VR and supports multiple steering wheels (Fanatec, Moza, Simcube, etc.) on Steam. Not supporting this community seems like a huge miss to have the title on Steam.
