Forza Horizon 5 Passes 6 Million Players Less Than a Week After Release

Less than a week after it was released, Microsoft has announced that 6 million players have tried Forza Horizon 5.

On November 5th, nearly 800,000 owners of the Premium edition of Forza Horizon 5 played Playground Games’s newest racing title. In the week since, that number has grown to over 6 million players across PC, Xbox and cloud platforms. 4.5 million players enjoyed FH5 on the first day alone, a number eclipsed only by Grand Theft Auto V’s launch day, and comfortably the biggest launch day for a racing game.

The reviews of the title have been overwhelmingly positive, including my own review of Forza Horizon 5 published recently. The setting for the fifth edition of the Forza Horizon series is Mexico, and Playground Games has offered players the largest map of any title in the series plus over 500 cars at launch. The open world themed racing game allows you to compete with or against other players from around the world who appear on the map simultaneously, or race solo in any of the hundreds of single-player challenges on offer.

Our Forza Horizon 5 forum is live, including a Horizon 5 photo thread that I’ve set up. If you’re among the millions of players now enjoying this title, be sure to drop a photo of your favourite car or setting from Forza’s Mexico.

If you are struggling with crashes try starting it in Admin Mode, that got it going for me.
Did that. Just struggling with that "low streaming bandwidth" or whatever it's called crap now.
I just stay out of cars that do over 200kph and it's fine:)

great game but it is missing simulation side of the game. example driving offroad is pretty joke and no cops and it need more traffic. can we disable dude who talks all the time?but of course when you make a game to play with gamepad also it pretty much cant be any better. i hope somebody make game like need for speed 1 with ac physics and beamng crash mechanics.

Apparently, gamers at large are craving for FH5 at silly high numbers sims will never have. Its developer has found and carefully min-maxed the winning formula to massively attract mainstream gamers, even those not that interested in car games. Even your Grandma has a high chance to be interested playing FH5. Expect FH6, FH7 and beyond to use the same formula again again, which was almost identical to FH4, FH3 (the last one I played fully before being tired of the formulat) and FH2. I have special fond memories of FH1 which is truly special.

There's no metal in the game, but there is a Rock / Alternative radio station at least.
But if the main game still has that "bruh" feel to it then I'll pass. Can't be dealing with all that Millenial/Zoomer stuff.

The confirmation once again that when a team plays a successful and quality game, the players do not wait. Great work Microsoft! :D :D
Bravo! Well said. And also this news makes all 50 AMS2 players extremely jealous.

6 million players that's a super fun experience.

Any music you want, just set the music slider to zero and run your choice of streaming music platform in the background.
valid point :), but I was referring more to the "vibe" of the "E" festival "bruh" scene. The demo of whatever one I tried was really quite awful with all that going on, I honestly wished it was a GTA style game and I could murder all the NPCs. ;)

I don't really pay much attention to that stuff, spend almost all my time in the game either racing, drifting, or throwing parts on cars.

Ok gotta admit FH5 is seriously impressive.

No it's not sim, but it can be easily called simcade. As someone said, the modern super/hypercars have exaggerated grip, but many others are much more plausible. Even older supercars can be a handful in a tough race, like Lamborghini Diablo.

The general scoring system is really casual, but by upping the difficulty, actual races are challenging enough. All assists disabled of course, with simulation handling. Sim racers playing just on gamepads are missing out. The FFB isn't half bad. I dialed down the offroad feedback though, the game forces you into situations where you gotta go on dirt with supercars, the default rattling is a bit much

Couple of issues need sorting, texture needs to be set on High because Ultra is bugged. And FFB wheel can't be connected when the game launches (at least T500), the FFB will be mostly broken. Have to disconnect-reconnect. Also the speed traps not being class specific is a bit pointless

Optimization is again God-tier, runs on pretty high settings and 8X MSAA even on my old rig with 980ti

I still liked the UK atmosphere more (imo the look of FH4 Edinburgh is unbeaten), but overall this is better.

I hope youve got a beefy cpu cause thats why we dont have a sim with beamng crash physics and a huge, living map

Wheel and ffb better than FH4, however driving physics was made even easier. I can drift between cars like a king while having a cup of coffee. In fact i was drifting the other day and fell asleep again and again without crashing. Either im a god or the driving is super simple, lol. Also dont like that you can take a street car and go offroad - with street tires and low ride height. A lambo going into the jungle would break into a million pieces. I think the game would be more fun if there was a real difference between the cars. Only real differerence is acceleration and top speed basically.

But hey, the gamers have spoken and they love it like this.

Thank the gods for sims.
