F1 22 | Newly Released Trailer Lists New In-Game Features

F1 22 Features Trailer.jpg
Another trailer has been released for F1 22, this time detailing a list of significant new features for this year's game.

The latest installment in the Codemasters F1 series is set to be released across most major platforms on July 1st, 2022. This year's edition features a significant list of new features, and a new video trailer has been released to detail them.

Perhaps the most significant change concerns the updated physics. Formula 1's regulation changes this season led to the creation of cars that perform significantly different than the outgoing year.

There are new game modes to play with this year as well. F1's Sprint races have been added, along with formation laps. Also, the notoriously elusive safety cars from past titles look to be more commonplace in F1 22.

For those looking to immerse themselves in the life of a Formula 1 driver on and off the track, the F1 Life mode has been significantly expanded. Room, wardrobe and even cars can be added for your character. For the cars, eight supercars have been included in the title, which can be used in the Pirelli Hot Lap mode.

Track updates to Spain, Australia and Abu Dhabi will be included, along with the new Miami Grand Prix site. We will have the chance to try these and the remaining circuits on the calendar solo or with friends, as career mode can be completed with two players.

Accessibility seems to be a priority in this version, as a new Adaptive AI mode tailors the AI difficulty to your driving capabilities. Those capabilities should also be easier to improve thanks to an enhanced practice mode that helps you learn various circuits. Driving assists will be present once again, but this year the option to revise the difficulty will be available at the conclusion of each race weekend.

And of course, the biggest news for PC sim racers; VR will be supported in this year's title for the first time.

F1 22 will be released on July 1st, just ahead of the 2022 British Grand Prix. It will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4,Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

If any of these features pique your interest, leave us a comment below.

Well I'm going to buy it anyway - and when I do I'll feel as dirty as a.... Hang on I did that last year, and the year before, and the year before.

Truth is that I actually enjoy the F1 titles when I play them, and with VR this year it's got to be more than worth a look. I don't give a toss that they may not be the most realistic titles around, although I still maintain that they are closer to sim than this "simcade" word that everyone uses as a derogatory word to describe sims they don't like, as I have plenty of other, by general consensus, "proper sim" titles to mess around with.
People here really want racing games to just be completely flavorless races devoid of any presentation whatsoever. Or rather, judging by the popularity of the AC mod section, hotlapping on tracks in perfect sunshine with no opponents.

Game not even out yet…

No one questioning what the new physics will drive like. Let’s focus on everything else :cautious:

I've not bought an official F1 game, since F1 2013 on the PS3, and that was mainly for their first classic content drop.
After playing VR in sims such as AC, PC2, RR3, DR 2.0, and AMS2, since 2017, official VR support finally brings me back to the official F1 yard.

This may be surprising but I dont think actual F1 fans really care about the super car aspect or anything like that. We have games to experience them. We buy F1 to experience F1,F2 and F3 cars. Why they think we need some super car BS is beyond me.

For me, I haven't purchased stand along F1 content since F1 2k when it was still coded by ISI.

trying to avoid buying every year version of this, but have to say that the VR will make this likely a purchase for me
I suppose it will really depend on how well it's done

recently tried AC again, with new GPU that I have now ( RTX3070) and it was super smooth experience

Comparing a wardrobe implementation to say... a classic version of Spa? Completely different things. One is a lot quicker than the other to put together.
Considering they owned SMS now, where they have a massive list of tracks models to take from. Along with an army of track artist and modellers to resource from.

This is bullshit especially they have an existing classic spa model right in their hard drive.

I think the audience that plays and enjoys thus game will be pretty happy with this title. Legitimate improvements like VR mean that for this year at least, they didn't just "Madden" it EA style.

Imagine having so much room for improvement in a Formula 1 game - there's no Formula 3, for example, no classic tracks et cetera.

But you include a wardrobe and random supercars. Classic EA.
Not that I want to defend EA/Codemasters, but I'm not too sure how many people who will buy this title really care about F3. I think F3 would appeal more to people who like Assetto Corsa, AMS2, etc. F1 is made with a wider audience in mind, the same people who buy Gran Turismo or Forza. At least, that's the way I see things.

I would love to have F3 in the game, don't get me wrong. One of my favorite mods for Assetto Corsa is the amazing F3 car by RSS. I think that, in the end, that mod is probably better than anything EA could come up with.

I agree, however, that the "F1 life" thing looks like a big load of nonsense. Or, more precisely, like a big load of in-game microtransactions. Frankly, having players buy clothes for their "character" is so juvenile... I've stopped playing with my G.I. Joe's a long time ago...

I get where you're coming from. My point was that there was far more sensible (in my opinion) content to add to the game than some sort of F1 Sims content... But who am I to judge the mighty videogame superconglomerates? :roflmao:

I buy it every 2 years -this year should be Yes, especially because the VR thing- and I have the same feeling, but to be honest, I enjoy driving the cars with no assists. I don’t notice them easier than, ie RSS F3 in AC, especially if you want to push the AI to the limit. Finally, I always get involved in an AC, ACC or any other sim league and I stop playing it, but I consider they are fun games to have a good time If you like f1. Most of us rather prefer Geoff Crammon’s but unluckily that happened 25 years ago. And we can’t stay on emulators for that long
