Croft Circuit Coming to rFactor 2 in Q4 Content Drop

In the newest announcement about rFactor 2's Q4 content drop, yet another circuit will be released. BTCC fans rejoice: Croft Circuit is officially coming!

If I were a Yorkshire person, I'd be proud right now, as Studio 397 announced Croft Circuit, the go-to Yorkshire motorsports venue to be officially added as DLC to rFactor 2.

After only having a (rather good) mod for Croft, now is the time for an update and official support. Don't forget, however, this DLC is laser-scanned.

The Track Itself

Hosting major races in the BTCC as well as British F4, Croft is a go-to venue for British motorsports.

Racing at Croft started all the way back in the 1920s but like so many English race tracks, it was only after World War 2 that Croft became a significant motorsports venue. And how else would it be, than by using a decommissioned Royal Air Force airfield?

Croft's first race as a permanent circuit was in 1964 at the so-called "Autodrome" using a 1.75-mile (2.816 km) layout with 12 turns. That layout persisted all the way until 1981 when the track had fallen into disrepair.

Until 1995, no circuit racing happened, however, the FIA European Rallycross Championship was hosted several times on the premises.

A short-lived new layout in 1995-1996 meant resumed circuit racing at Croft. In 1997, though, the layout as it stands today was built.

Croft features a Main Circuit with 2.127 miles (3.423 km) and 16 corners and two club circuits. Club Circuit 'A' and 'B' are shorter loops of existing main circuit roads.

The Q4 Content Drop So Far

Up until now, the Q4 content drop releases the following DLC:
Furthermore, tomorrow will feature the last piece of content for the Q4 drop.

Croft Circuit is coming to rFactor 2 on Monday, November 7th.

yes, drip fed to you for double the cost the btcc game would have been as a single game
If you don’t think it is worth the money, don’t buy it. If I have to pay double the money for BTCC content in rFactor 2, but have these cars and tracks available in a sim instead of dumbed down arcade game, that’s more than fine to me. And in rFactor 2 you can race these cars on any track against any car. But… you can always wait for a 50% sale and wait for one or two years. In the meanwhile I will have a lot of fun with these cars and tracks for €50 more.:)

Surely if you bought all the drip feed BTCC content and you're into sim racing and using RF2 then the actual BTCC game (if it ever comes out) will be a hard sell?

what a great official addition. i believe this is the first properly laser scanned version done by a professional dev right?
until now we had private mod versions of this track if i am not mistaken?
great track for smaller classes like tcr, btcc, gt4 or formula 3

Please modders, classic versions from these BTCC tracks with old billboards etc. And then the Super Tourers. Have been waiting for so long time to have opportunity to race them in more modern sims. GTR Evo/07 times are starting to be bit over :coffee:

Doubtful. Not counting '70s F1 cars, the most historic/vintage release from S397 has been a Mini with modern safety gear. '66 Brianza (Monza), Monte Carlo (Monaco), and Spa date back to ISI's rF2 launch and no historic tracks have since been released. The one hope is that we'd get a historic 'Ring, mentioned in passing when S397 released Nurburgring in 2019.
Agree S397 has zero little interest in this... I shake my head mini over this type of content... really!!!
