F1 takes to the Autódromo José Carlos Pace circuit this weekend in Brazil.

Formula One returns to Brazil this weekend after missing the 2020 race. The event will see the return of the sprint qualifying format.

Driver’s championship leader Max Verstappen holds a 19 point lead over Lewis Hamilton at a track both drivers tend to perform well on. Their respective teams, Red Bull and Mercedes, are separated by just one point with Mercedes’ slight edge.

Just four races remain in the 2021 season, with the field travelling to Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi to close out the year. While Verstappen’s 19-point advantage seems safe at this point, constructor’s standings are more hotly contested. Mercedes’s one point lead could easily swing to Red Bull’s advantage before the end of the year, and the 13.5-point lead Ferrari now holds over McLaren looks to be a tight battle for the remainder of the season.

Behind the four top teams, Alpine and Alphatauri are locked at 106 points each. Pierre Gasly’s impressive 86 points this season have offset Yuki Tsunoda’s 20 at Alphatauri, with Alpine’s points being more balanced at 60 and 46 for Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon, respectively.

There remains much to be decided this season in terms of the final driver and constructor rankings. Let us know your thoughts on who might finish ahead of where they are currently ranked, and who will take the win in Sao Paulo this weekend.

Drama, classic season!

I still think the Mercedes has a lot of pace here, so i wouldnt be surprised if he can still score a good chunk of points.

Blablablabla

He won 7 championships in a row.
Not much of a loser I would say.
okay recover he shows his true face of a bad loser.
Blaming Max for their illegal behind wing how do you make it up. is he going to apologize to Max?

No, +5 on the grid on Sunday.

You don't think Hamilton will get into the top 10 during the sprint race?

I dont see this one as a lucky time for Hamilton and also he can have the same failure in any of the next races this wekeend and there for would be DQ on those sessions also. And that is not something you would like to race thinking about. But if they dont use DRS, that would be another story. (they did not use it in FP2, at least I didnt watch Hamilton activating it at any time)
But for sure was really strange the time they took to DQ him.
I have no recall that on a technicall brake of rules there was such much time to define the procedure, DQ is the only option and if you apply further you can allow that later but for determining a DQ, no exuses here. That was odd.
For the fine on Verstappen well, same. Its strange that now with him they start to move toward a more "no tolerance" policy from now on. Not that its a bad statement to make but should had been all around since Parc Ferme ruling started.

Presumably the delay was because they had to investigate if the wing was tampered with by Verstappen.

That's exactly what Christian Horner would do.
(remember the sh*t he said after Silverstone and Budapest)
Get a life dude.
what does my life have to do with it I enjoy Max that's why we're here.

you should enjoy being a Max fan too, as you say you are a max fan :whistling:

Signed: Lewis' Number 1 fan :roflmao:

But in all seriousness, Lewis and Mercedes are bad losers

No. Totally wrong.
I am sick of Hamilton winning, and I am no fan of his fashion style either :)
I hope Max wraps it up.

I just don't get how childish some here are.
All drivers make mistakes.
And ALL team owners are bad losers.
They all want to win all the time.
Red Bull and Mercedes are BOTH the best cars.
Hamilton and Verstappen are BOTH incredible drivers.

It's just little kids that love to see black and white.

Have fun.

It was clear even in the far smartphone video campture that would be imposible as he did not move any part and apply any significant force as to make a 85mm open be forced to open any more. If it was because of that, it´s just really a joke.
But well, FIA is not a very coherent advocate on applying the same rules for everyone, more so this seasson.

Lest hope for a normal weekend for now on.

Incredible drive by Lewis, from 20th to 5th.
Just imagine what Bottas would have done starting at the back... maybe 17th :)

But the Mercs are very fast... Max will have a lot of work to win this one tomorrow.

Yes its over. Hamilton WDC champion. Nothing can be done to stop it. The Mercedes has like 50HP more, so its just a easy peasy cruise job.

At this point, with only 4 races to go, merc can put their engine at 100% without worrying about anything, and that engine at 100% is absolutely insane.

Red Bull is in some REAL trouble right now.

This thread is becoming funnier than ever :roflmao:

Max has 21 points over Lewis, ie almost a win (or more than a 2nd place with best lap) with 4 races left. And he is starting 2nd Hamilton 10th. That's the kind of "real trouble" teams have been dreaming about for 7 years.

If Verstappen finishes sufficiently ahead of Hamilton tomorrow he only has to come second in the final four races to win the championship, even if Hamilton wins them all.

I think third will not be enough for Lewis tomorrow, he needs to beat Verstappen. A tough task considering how much of a gap opened up today by the time Lewis had cleared the midfield. Mercedes are up against it and the Red Bull in Verstappen's hands has proven itself the quicker package this season. Just look at the number of laps lead between the two - it shows the point well.

The new engine maybe a big help to Lewis but for me Max is in prime position to take the title and he knows it.

Can we talk about that move Hamilton made on Norris? I would be reluctant to try that move in a sim, let alone in real life. I'm not a Hamilton fan, but I gotta say that was quite an overtake.

He started that move from seemingly way behind the McLaren. No matter how much faster the Merc is, and even with DRS, a move like that still requires the driver to get the last corner absolutely perfect and get on the throttle quicker than the driver ahead did. As well as a dose of courage.

I just don't want him to do more of it tomorrow. :)

All in a all I really enjoyed this edition of the sprint race.
