10 Racing & Driving Titles to Look Out for in 2022

2022 racing games.jpg
We are quarter of the way through 2022 already, so far we’ve seen Gran Turismo 7 hit the shelves and Assetto Corsa Competizione receive a massive update for the latest generation of console - but what can we expect to see in the racing game and simulator genres for the rest of 2022?

There are of course a number of titles that will be due this year, that will not be a surprise to anyone. You know the franchises we are on about, they come out year after year. However, this year there are a few titles that are making a return after more than a year out and some very promising indie games too.

Here’s our list of racing games that you need to keep an eye out for, have we missed any?

F1 Manager is out this summer.

Zero details so far, so it could either be Football Manager -esque or crash and burn.

F1 2022 by EA will be interesting.

Looking forward to the Stroll Family DLC Collection. Each package features a different team, each one with a specific and coherent price tag, allowing you to skip F2 and all the boring career progression process and go straight to the seat of your favorite team's car. So you can start the game any way you want and be destroyed by your teammate, whoever he will be. But don't worry, as long as you play in the Stroll mode, you will never lose your contract.
Of the recent pay drivers Lance Stroll is actually a pretty good racer.Better than Mazapin,Latifi and Maldonado. And I welcome his Fathers investment in Aston Martin team that would probably not exist now without him.Whether you like them or not both Strolls are a net gain for F1.Lance does not take anyones seat because that team would not exist & Stroll Sr is a successful businessman so he will ensure Aston Martin is on a profitable sustainable path long after either Stroll is around F1.
The fact a billionaire funds his kids racing through karting to F1 does not stop anyone else on the same career path,so your post is just a bit weird if you are a race fan.

Motogp 22 is going to be a disappointment, there's just no forward momentum in terms of development. Looks like the incredibly crude tyre wear and heat stays. No real difference between bikes. Nothing done with the historic bikes.
So what did they do? They give us a story. I see a trend developing where instead of giving a better developed game they give you distraction.

Hopefully, a completely different team of programmers is at work on the BTCC game.
Judging by the list of vacancies at MSG that have remained open for months on end, no one is at work on the BTCC game:

what about my winter car?only tdu solar crown is interesting but i think its very bad game but i hope i am wrong. i hope electronic arts will not mess up this genre also!

I think we have enough good racing sims. Good mods or dlcs for classic f1, btcc, the german stw and dtm(95-97 and the early v8 era) are imho missing.

WipeOut,F-Zero,Dethkarz still need a good remake or remaster. Really loving these type of Games. With Dethkarz being my alltime favourite.

I was aiming more at the EA policy actually, and the paid drivers system in general. F2 and F3 are becoming a bit useless. Stroll is just a more emblematic example having bought the whole team

Moreover, while Stroll is not the worst paid driver F1 had, he is not the best driver for that seat also. And the fact that the team had to be saved from bankruptcy the way it was could be avoided by F1, by implement something like the budget limit earlier.

A few that are interesting to me.

Test Drive, the BTCC Game, Nano Racing and the Easy Rider Simulator... Redout 2 maybe too! :)

A cap would not have saved Force India. The problem was the owner and his legal issues.

Not to mention that the other interested party interested in buying the team was Mazepin Sr. Can you imagine what it would be like right now if he had bought the team instead?

I don't expect much from this year, the ACC new tracks are the only worthy thing for me in 2022. I just hope that by the end of 2023 we can have the first screenshots and info about AC2.
AC is definitely the best racing game ever.

so nothing for Sim racers in 2022 then, all arcade stuff. i did used to play only arcade once upon a time. but once u taste AC & RF2....

With all the money I spent on my rig in the last few months  (CSL DD, two wheels, Radeon 6800XT) I am definitely looking forward to a good driving sim, no arcade stuff. Anything that can be a worthy successor of AC is welcome. Ideally a sim where I can drive at the limit road cars/supercars with proper physics on road/trackdays, places like LA Canyons or the Nordschleife. I do think AC is still very good for that, so I can wait. For racing I don't think I need anything other than ACC, maybe a rally title but that would mean spending more money on equipment (handbrake).. so thanks, no thanks.
AC2 is on development
