Thank you to everyone for the continued feedback! I know this is a very small, grassroots track, but it has something to it that just makes it enjoyable. It's very high speed and the corners that are there are quite tricky to screw up.
I have spent a few days trying to match it to the historical photos and videos I have. Therefore I've made quite a few changes:
- Adjusted outside terrain of course to match real site
- Added in additional exterior details (stock car oval, cars, debris, fencing, bleachers, hedges)
- Added in more browner trees to help match the look of old HRP
- Adjusted the road course to add in a few bumps to match video
- Added in additional curbing that I missed
- Adjusted the terrain around the curbing to punish anyone who abuses them (the old track had huge ruts on the outside of the road and the kerbs so this is appropriate
- Added in light poles and light fixtures to match original track
- Adjusted Pits to work properly
- Fixed a bunch of misc issues to include the map tracking
For the pits, the old track really wasn't setup for huge pits of 24 cars. So I deleted one of the concrete blocks that was actually there in real life and adjusted the stalls to be more spread out. I also didn't realize that I had several sections that also needed to be named 2PIT, 3PIT, etc, so I added that in. So pits are definitely working for Race and Track days.
Lighting has been added. To be truthful, some of lighting at the old track was broken or didn't work. I've added in two light poles where there were none to assist in the really dark spots, but for the most part, they're spot on. I have to add two more very large light poles for the drag strip area that I need to custom make. I will update eventually with that.
I also tried to recreate the JSON file...as it was causing issues for non-CM users. Hopefully, this worked.
I have a few more things left to do before I'm done:
- Accurate Road Textures & Markings
- Buildings (Snack Bar/Restrooms/Misc)
- Light poles
- More terrain tweaks
- Misc stuff (signs, poles, etc)
I hope that you'll continue to check out this track and enjoy the changes. It's really starting to come together. Thanks for the support!
