Eifel-Ardennes Ring 1.5

The Eifel-Ardennes Ring is a fictional racetrack that combines a motorway and country roads to a 7.782 km/4.836 mi long circuit.
It's embedded in the hilly countryside of the German Eifel (where the Nürburgring is) and the Belgian Ardennes (where Spa-Francorchamps is).
36 pit+grid spots
CSP is not required but recommended for 3D grass and reflections on the lake.

For 18 years I've been researching and testing to design a racing circuit that has all kinds of driving challenges and no unnecessary sections or annoying things like track limits discussion.
Now I'm publishing the best layout so far in the hope that you'll enjoy it and maybe give me some feedback:
Are there sections that you find boring or overly risky instead?
You can see the names of the sections on the track map that is in the track folder or while driving if you activate the app 'Track Description'.
Do you think that the mix of corners is too focused on some types of corners?
Are there any other things that you don't like?
Are there things that you like on other tracks that are missing here?
Do you have any other ideas for improvements?

At this stage the graphical design is just to show how the track is embedded in the landscape, which I think is important for a good track.
A lot of graphic improvements are planned, once the track layout has been finalized.

Please send your feedback to CKCircuits@aol.com or here on RaceDepartment.

In consideration of the reviews so far, I've significantly reduced the deceleration on the grass.

thanks for this good track ...powerrrr...
This is a pretty good track but I do agree with other reviews regarding the speed reduction. It would be great if the speed reduction off track wasn't so sudden because it's very jarring. While I do like the layout I can't help but feel a nice straightway would balance out the many turns this track has. The graphics don't bother me in anyway, especially considering I don't have a powerful pc. Besides those points, cool track.

I've updated the track and significantly reduced the "speed reduction off track".

Let me start that mod has the potential of a great track of which I love to use it for my online races in the RD Racing club sometime. The flow and elevation are very good. The graphics need improvement to get more feeling of realism, especially the tarmac. The penalty of speed reduction when off track is way too harse. Not realistic at all. But I like 'natural' track limits so don't remove it, just make the effect less. And the track can use more objects like road signs, spectators, animals etc.

Please keep up the good work! Looking forward to the next update!

As I wrote, the graphics only provisional until I've finalized the track layout after receiving some feedback.
Regarding "The penalty of speed reduction" please read my answer to the comment below.
Fast flowing, very pleasant track. However a big improvement to do is the grass: not realistic. Too much grippy. It is like to go in one of these gravel part added on real tracks to quickly stop cars before hitting the rails or walls.
Less important, maybe more signs for warning when approaching some curbs.

Yes, I gave the grass the properties of gravel, because:
1. I find the driving is more thrilling when leaving the track is penalized.
2. as you wrote, it "quickly stop cars before hitting the rails or walls". (Larger run-off areas would not fit into the hilly landscape.)
But of course I will change it if it bothers most people.
Until then, you can change it yourself by reducing the value "DAMPING" under "[SURFACE_2]" in the file "AssettoCorsa/content/tracks/Eifel-Ardennes_Ring/data/surfaces.ini".
It's not entirely unrealistic, by the way. There's often heavy rain in this region, which soaks the ground. Then the sun dries the surface so that the grass looks normal. But if you drive over it, the wheels sink into the mud.
