Merry Christmas! AMS2 is full of historic icons, and the Goodsmile team is no exception. Sporting the vocaloid icon Hatsune Miku in its livery, this is the team that dares to bring Itasha culture towards racing and actually also being good at racing. Hooked by the cute Racing Miku, you'll still root them for the win!
Historically they're a very successful team with 3 Super GT GT300 title in 2011, 2014 and 2017. 2023 wasn't as rosy as their peaks, but Goodsmile still manage a pole at Round 4 Fuji this year. They slipped in the races but still get some top 5 such as in Suzuka and Sugo.
This year also marks the 15th year of their Hatsune Miku GT Project. At the time, Goodsmile and Crypton was looking at ways to promote their brand new vocaloid character Hatsune Miku. Goodsmile did sponsor a Mitsubishi Evo Rally Car in previous year, but an opportunity arose when Studie, a specialized BMW tuning shop wants to enter Super GT after being successful in Super Taikyu. Thus born are the Hatsune Miku race car in 2008. It was actually quite a rocky start for the team due to lack of experience, but they perseveres and the rest is history.
I have included both liveries here, the Merc is compatible with the normal AMG GT3 (not the evo) of AMS2 and PC2, while the BMW is compatible with PC2 version of Z4 GT3, or the Thunderflash mod for it in AMS2. For the Mercedes, I have included an example but since many AMS2 liveries come in packs so you'd better learn Reiza's own instruction on how to install custom liveries. For the BMW you might want to ask the nice guys over at Thunderflash mods on how to install it alongside the mod.
As for PC2 installation, just rename the liveries to mercedes_amg_gt3_livery.dds and bmw_z4_gt3_livery.dds, and put it into the the CustomLiveries folder.

Before you ask:
- Why not the Evo? Are you going to do another one for AMG GT3 Evo?
I started this project months ago, way before I know Reiza will have the Evo. Once I learned that the Evo was coming I was disheartened somewhat knowing that it is actually the car, but I decided to look at it positively, at least this old GT3 is available on the base game so everyone can enjoy. I can't guarantee whether I would do the Evo, but I have the necessary stuff if I decided to do it. If there's enough demand and I have the mood, I may do it.
- It looks good but why it doesn't fully 100% match the real life car?
I tried my best but I have skill issue.... I'm really sorry I only have mere photoshop to work in 2D and my PC also does not have the best specs and accurate display. Skill issue aside there are some small Japanese sponsors which are quite hard to find and I can't read Japanese (yet), so yeah still skill issue
- Why not create a pack like other AMS2 skins?
I know I made the Haruhi last easter and it would've been nice to have some sort of historic itasha pack to go with it. But recreating these type of liveries are another beast because it's quite complex compared to most normal liveries. I will go along one by one as far as i can, but hopefully we could make an actual historic itasha pack along the way. I'd also appreciate if you have a similar interest and willing to help, feel free to contact me!
- Is this the only Goodsmile livery in AMS2 so far?

As for the BMW, since it is a mod, that one is a bit more complicated. You can go to Google and search for Thunderflash AMS2 mods, there will be discord link and better ask the people inside to help you.
