OUTSTANDING!! This as well as the Nissan Primers are two of the genuinely most enjoyable cars I've ever driven out of the box in AC. I really hope Patrik is also working on the 1999 BTCC Mondeo, Laguna and Honda, as this will be one of the absolute BEST mods for AC!

There was a Volvo dealership near my parents' house and they had a mocked-up version of the S40 in Rickard Rydell's livery. I used to stare at it in amazement.

Now I can drive it at Silverstone, Thruxton, Oulton, Knockhill, Brands...

I only drove this for one lap but it is one of the best experiences I've had with a mod in AC so far. Definitely worth a download.

Brilliant car. All three BTCC cars are superb. Many thanks to the team!

With this car I’m getting some distracting reflections in the transparent darker section of the sun visor. Not just innocent clouds and the sky but quite distinct “reflections” that should be there such as a a double of the rear screen mirror.

I wonder if its possible for me to manually remove the entire visor or change its properties to solve this?

I have one issue when I try to race (practice) the race ends before start
possible fix: analyze the car with CM and found 3 errors, fix the first 2 with CM and problem solves, maybe you can fix this for the next update, thanks again

Like the Primera and the 320 this car drives beatufully, the details in the model are amazing and probably the best of the three (well, leaving out bmw's cockpit ;-P ).

I'm having a little graphic bug in VR as someone else already reported, there are some reflections on the lower side of the sun visor on the windshield, it also "doubles"the rear view mirror (but it's shaded, like a reflection as said), here you can find some screenshot of the bug: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1K6M_gA36ihZeNg7MA9GrZc7fmgAdLYUg?usp=sharing

You asked for constructive feedback: 1, like to have more gearbox whine, pretty sure they where running a straight cut gears. with solid mounts. so the gearbox should be making some noise :) 2, windshields... 3, more 5 cylinder roar, I have seen and heard a S40 (STCC) IRL and they almost sound like the UR Quattro.

Thanks for the feedback and i'm glad you are enjoying the car. The interior recording was taken from the 1998 Rydell car that I did in 2017 using a Rode (broadcast standard) high SPL mic and Zoom sound recorder. All I can say is wow! First laps in this car were amazing fun. Love the new physics tweaks. Feeling over curbs, lift off oversteer - in fact everything felt great already!
10 laps with the Nissan and BMW in a 22 car field around Truxton in VR and I just have a huge smile on my face.
The end result was never in doubt and only v0.7.2...

Is all we could ask from a 1999 BTCC mod.
The car feels like a saloon car, the weight feels correct, the suspension travel feels correct, the power feels correct too.
Is not easy to drive... as it has to be.
Great work regarding to the 3D model also.
Is just perfect.

This is my favourite BTCC car ever, as well as my favourite era. Upon buying AC for the first time about a year ago, this was the first car I wanted to find and use. I've spent that year learning all the vanilla tracks, as well as whole host of others I've downloaded. All in this car. It's brilliant, the gearbox whine, the shifting, the feelings it evokes in me of being 12-13 years old and watching this car being ragged around Thuxton and Brands. Such a good mod in more ways than just its form. The memories it brings are wonderful.
