Hey everyone,

Welcome to time trial week this is basically people will drive lap times on designated tracks and post their times here. Also if you could provide some kind of proof say photo or for 360 and PS3 users just leave a gamertag/PS3 ID so one of our staff can just verify these times are not false.

This weeks track is Monte Carlo (Wet)

So basically you can put in as many laps as possible and your best can be posted here:

The closing day for this thread and results for times will be next friday at 9pm (UK Time)

Cheers Peeps and enjoy

Rules:

Yeah, but you can see in what gear (and speed) I'm in the corners and that helps a lot. That should say a lot of where you are yourself, by comparing the gears and speed (on straights and corners) of yours with mine. From this you should be able to figure out the correct braking moments and throttle inputs for yourself. You can see where you lose time in what corner and what sector.

This way, you can learn yourself how to find the best braking points and throttle inputs!

I just dont get the pace you managed to take through the chicane on the exit to the tunnel and how i can be over 3 seconds off the pace. Did you fluke the chicane as i tried taking it at a simular pace the other night and was having accidents each time (notably oversteer on entry). My car just doesnt respond like your does through there, or on most corners to be frank. Ive seen your vid and i drive in a very simular fashion to you and always short shift in the wet, yet just dont get anywhere near as much grip.

Have they relayed the tarmac around monaco in your version of the game? :)

Well you can steer very sharp when you do nothing with the throttle or brake. Release brake early before you are going to turn in and just let the car go, no throttle in middle of corner (maybe in some, but mostly not). In the first section that fast left hand corner to right, I don't brake at all, otherwise I would go straight into fence. Just release throttle before corner and cruise through it, with very short little throttle inputs in fifth gear.

Yeah, the chicane after tunnel is very difficult, because you have to be very fast with steering. Already when you go left you have to steer fully to the right as fast as possible, otherwise you won''t make it (I put so much force on my wheel here, that if it was a plastic one it would brake for sure).

Kinda sounds like an accusation to me....I can assure you that i didnt use any at all. QUOTE]

Not at all! Why would I? I just answered your question Lars.
I dont know or care who has mods for grip or otherwise.
At the end of the day I am only really competing against myself... (and the others too...)
If someone is 3 or 5 or more seconds quicker than me, I dont assume that they are cheating... I just beleive that there is more time that I can find in my lap.

Paulus, thats good info there for sure. Thanks.
Stay Chilled dudes
George

Sorry George if i took it the wrong way, i am in the camp that doesn't like mods that much, might have read it wrong. I apologize.

Paulus is right though and i really can see where he gets that 1:15 defo with the T-cam, i run most corners a gear higher then you think you should.. and you gain alot doing that.

I started taking turn 1 in 4th but now take it in 5th, hairpin in 3rd, turn before tunnel in 4th etc etc do that and you gain alot of time.
Also F1-2010 doesnt seem to like brake slamming which real F1 drivers supposed to be doing. For me feathering the brake alot earlier instead of slamming it late helped alot to.

Ok, played it again last night and took on board a few things that was said. Im now starting to believe that a 1'15 is legit and not so suspitious anymore. I had only a few laps trying a slightly different techique and now down to a 1'18.2**. I can see where im losing time and think its just a case of needing to practice the last half a lap a bit more. Ive been playing the ghost of the number 1 guy on the leaderboard and can match him on time up until the entrance to the tunnel and then it goes a bit pear shaped. Taking high gears is definataly the way forward and cheers Paulus for the tip, no braking needed on the entry to Casino square!!

Here are the top 5 times for this event but some people arent following the rules i need pics for proof and some of the times posted have no pics so please guys next time leave a pic if you can it makes my job of taking down times alot easier cheers and congrats to our top 5 drivers ill do top 5 rather than top 3 from now on.
