Lol, you guys are very entertaining. I think my comment was in perfect taste. It made everyone laugh and it outlined my dedication to help my teammates and preventing a rival from winning. Plus, I don't mince words for niceties sake. Landon evoked my response by starting to whine about why I didn't go around them. Landon was a victim of numbers and in reflection he realized it. Landon and apparently everyone else wasn't aware of Chad, Dave, and my alliance. He even had the inside line open down the back stretch on the last lap, but chose to stay glued to my bumper to try and win. That's what I said "I just didn't want you to win Landon." What I meant was I know Landon was going to use me only to secure his win (as Adam Roberts found out Wednesday) and if I were to forward my position, taking him with me, it could result in him winning. If I had raced the 17 and the 33, any number of things could have taken place, possibly a wreck between us or something to open the door for the 75.

When I blocked? I have no idea when that was When I pulled down after our three car tandem? Maybe your definition of block is different than mine, but a block is when someone aggressively defends their position from rearward advances. I just dropped down and held my line when I was moving at a speed that was faster than those two. I don't know if you talked to Landon about this, but sometimes you lose and I think he's come to terms with it. He was telling me about at the first Daytona when you guys lined up the front three rows side by side and prevented anyone from passing. Why you've even perpetuated this conversation is beyond me. I think you Huffman Racing boys saw how its done, with half the cars and are sort of put out that it wasn't you guys that demonstrated the epitome of team racing.

This was fun, I'm glad I said what I did. If it means Huffman Racing won't cut me a break from here on out? "I don't race to make friends" - Landon Huffman.

I read back through there and the sermon about blocking being terrible rubs me the wrong way. I yield the position to faster cars every race. You talk as if it's a chronic problem for me. There are people that race here that block and race hard from the drop of the green though.

Guy, glad we are able to provide you entertainment in this discussion. I find it funny in how you view the comments. Not sure I see the final laps the same as you do, as I recall you were leading a three car tango to pass Landon and RJ on the outside, then as soon as you clear Landon, you leave your partners to drop in front of Landon. Struck me as odd when I watched the replay, because if you were really racing to win, then you would have stayed with your partner till he cleared. Instead you drop down and block Landon, and I would assume possibly drag the brake a bit to slow that line down so the others can complete the pass. You may call that racing, I personally feel that to be poor sportsmanship. Granted the last couple of laps in a race you want to fight for every position, but this move was pretty low, as your goal wasn't to win yourself, or even keep your own position, but to purposely slow down a competitor, again a pretty shady move. On top of that you announce it to the whole field. Why you think that would be funny is beyond me. Nobody is asking you to make friends out here, but you will learn that simple common courtesy goes a long way in racing and life.

I haven't spoken to Landon or anybody on our team since the race, since I have been traveling since, but I can assure you nobody has ever mentioned ever doing anything like you did at that race. The Daytona race you mention at the beginning of he season just happen to have four Huffman cars at the front mid race. There was no blocking going on there, just simply no where for anybody to pass us at the time.

Again the only reason for the post is to make sure there is awareness of a potential issue. As when guys are not racing to win, and have an agenda to simply keep somebody else from winning, that really hurts the league as a whole. Especially once we get to the chase and many of the drivers will have nothing to really race for, that opens the door for more of what you did his last Monday.

Guy, I am not implicating that you block all the time, as I personally have never had a problem racing you. I am stating this could be an issue going forward, as you stated pretty clearly to all. Especially as this winds down and only a couple of guys have a shot to win.

You continue to make me laugh. No where in the racing handbook does it say you have to race to win. Your assumption of me dragging the brake is ridiculous. I'd send you the replay if I thought the situation was worth rectifying. You guys got beat and this all sounds like sour grapes. Restrictor plate racing is already the socialism of racing, now youre saying everyone has to have a chance to win, blah blah blah. If this were the other way around I'd feel dejected and move on. Is it my fault Landon and RJ didn't have the patience to let the outside two clear them and go high to pass me as well? You wheel your car and I'll wheel mine. It's my perogative to race however I want as long as it doesn't involve wrecking other people. If that means I want to intentionally finish 2nd I don't see the problem. Apparently you're worried that TMCRMI will spoil your day come Talladega, which enthralls me. Btw why have a team of you don't work together? I'm sure you're only raising the point because your team was involved. I also appreciate your attempts to blow what I said out of proportion. I said "I didn't want you to win Landon" it may as well have been "I didn't want you to win [insert name here]". Again Landon was complaining that I cost myself and him a chance at the win by not trying to pass them on the last lap. I'd have respect for inquiries if I did something dirty, which inevitably will happen when someone else tries to emulate our picture perfect strategy, but I can't help that.

Hmmm...I see an opportunity for a late-night broadcast on ETVLive!. Lets call it "As The Wheel Turns" or "Up Your Tailpipe"...with the drama being generated between this post and the Blocking post...you boys up for it??!! I'm serious, 30 minute show, call it as you see it, one rule only...you all shake hands after and leave as friends like you came in. Let me know if you're up for it, we can include clips from previous races too.

Guy, so what you fail to see is that I don't care who won. I am simply pointing out the fact that there seems to be a problem, as when guys don't race a race to win, then why are they racing? The only other reason would be to try to wreck somebody or keep somebody else from winning, which in my book defeats the purpose. You seem to keep taking this personally, when I am simply pointing out a problem. Nobody is complaining that your guy won, simply that I think this will be a bigger issue going forward. Your statement on the track, although you feel is being blown out of proportion, was very telling of you. How would you feel if somebody said that to you? You would simply do the same to them, so we start a bad cycle.
Anyway, I made my point sorry if you felt it is directed at you personally, as that wasn't the point of the post.

Lawls, man, Lawls. As long as no one is wrecking people, I don't see the problem. I dare anyone to keep me from winning. Does that mean people will take what I did to a questionable level (aka being a lap down and driving a lead lap car dirty)? But racing is a complex game, just trying to win is an over simplification of what is going on. As far as your point being made, Id say that is debateable. And I'm not sure why I'd take being called unsportsmanlike and being in bad taste personally.

Something nice eh........

Due to actions that occured during the Can-Am Racing Series event at Loudon, the following penalties have been assessed:

Eric Arnold - 25 point penalty, and probation for the remaining 3 races of the Can-Am Racing Series schedule.

Reason: Caused a total of 4 cautions. The third caution that he should have claimed, and thus resulted an ending of the event for Eric, he failed to claim it. After being given more than adequate time to make a claim to the caution, it was not. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we were unable to review the caution with adequate certainty, and thus announced it would be reviewed after the event who would claim it. Not long after, a 4th caution was then caused by Eric. He then parked after that.

Due to the nature of the offense, the admins have decided on those penalties. The decision is final. The probation extends through the end of the Richmond race, and will result in all further caused cautions by Eric to be automatically escalated by 1 penalty level. After Richmond, the slate is clean.

Thank you,
Can-Am Racing Series Admins
