That's a really good idea! You only need internet to log in and upload your times, so it should work.

What type of mobile do you have? If it's Android, there should be an option called "Tethering and Mobile hotspot". Turn mobile hotspot on and it'll turn your phone into... a mobile hotspot. You should now be able to connect to it with your PC wirelessly.
That's true, the option for that is in the same menu. Most phones come with a USB cable as part of the charger too. You can also tether via bluetooth.
