I know you can join/rejoin with the same car, because we do it in the prequal sessions for the leagues... i will test if it works with different cars/classes very soon.

To answer the question:
I have just tested on Monza to join with an E90, drove 1 lap, exit the server and rejoined in a F3000. Did a lap and leave.
The qual session was over and I did check the logging and I had 2 entries (1 for each car).

So, yes you can leave and rejoin in another car/class if you like within the same session.

Found a graphical bug when more then one track has to be showed (top 12 laps for example). The graphics on the bottom of the upper tables are lost.
I will try to safe the universe from annihilation soon when I find some more time.
