F1 2012 Melbourne - Australia (Dry)

F1 2012 The Game (Codemasters)
I did a 1:26:847 in q on prime tyres driving mclaren in career mode.
Just the default setup with 6th and 7th gear two clicks forward.
I just set the brakes to front for s1 ,for s2 neutral and s3 to rear.
I no I can still go quicker on primes .
I didn't test options on a hot lap yet.
Last week with afew good setups on options i was only getting low 1.28's or a high 1:27 if I was lucky.

No good setup in carrer mercedes 1:29, and race 1:31

guys i have tried some set ups.. but when i am in Q1 the engine often blows up
(cuz the geraring).. for example in the video for the hot lap above would have exploded like 9 times before he gets to the finish line..

do i have to take the damages off??? (i like the damages being realistic)

i am racing in legendary because thats what i enjoy the most.. i am good overall.. but having these set ups and my engine blowing up is not fun at all.

mi goal is to run all the races fare and square -no cheating- if i crashed thats it.. is over.. if spun out.. time to recover, flat tyre. bad luck.. and so.

of course i have benn using the kers in other sectors instead of the straitways but

what r ure recomendations???

i like the set up but is freakin anoying to end the Q cuz a engine blowout

Staying on the rev limit isn't the healthiest, but if you set the 7th gear higher for qualifying, just to avoid redlining, then you'll be way too slow on straights in the race. I guess reaching the rev limit while driving and accelerating is much better for the engine anyway, than dropping a gear too early and making a sudden RPM spike.

I'm guessing your prob losing most of it through that very fast left-right s after the straight. The AI catches me big time if I don't nail that spot on, also the right hander immediately after seems I can't cary the kind of corner speed that I did in 2011. One thing I've noticed in the new game is how important it is to keep your tires clean. If you clip a corner a little to much and get some grass or dirt on them, it affects grip a lot more than 2011 and it takes longer to get them clean

That one is getting me very often as well.

circuit_map_aus.jpg

(Turns 11 & 12)

You need to sacrifice entry speed and try to stay in the middle / a little towards the left side - that way you can maximize the exit speed and clip the corner, so that two wheels are on the astroturf on the left side when you get back onto the straight. That way you should be able to match the AI exit speed, it's just a little hard to learn. :)

I have no idea what is wrong between 2011 and 2012. But I've tried every setup imaginable and I just cannot get on pace. my team mate is three second ahead of me. I'm in the India and I'm lappingin the back row. iI played legend I'm the last game andI did fine. I even tried putting in the driving line and I can't come close. what is it with this game? I used a setup that the poster claimed he ran a 1:27 and I can barely make 1:32 giving it my all. does anyone else have this issue?

Also pretty certain the gear ratios I used were from a set up I tried on here before as I'm not best with the gears!

| Career and Multiplayer setup! |

Hey guys,
I saw some other setups of you guys, very nice! :)
This one is for the Multiplayer and the race in career of Melbourne. (Dry)
- I play always on Legend. Race: 25%

Every single detail can better. But this is not a TT setup. so everyone knows that your tires wear out, so maybe is this really fine for people who are don't know how to make a good setup for multiplayer and career. :)
So I know every car in career is different but if you have some trouble with this setup you can improve with some of the settings. Much oversteer? Change your rear anti roll bar. Trouble with top speed? Change your front and rear wing and your gearbox of course. etc.. etc.. :)
So good luck! And hope you like the setup. :D

THIS IS ONLY FOR RACES AND FOR MULTIPLAYER.
I Know if your using a TT setup you will just get stuck with the gearbox, which not give you enough top speed without DRS

Very smooth lap there, think you could have gone quicker though, looks like your exit from turn 4 went a bit wide as that kerb as you exit bounces the car slightly, I reckon you could sneak into the 1:30.xxx bracket, will post my new set up which I find is much more suited for a race set up and will probably do a video with it, need to get the use out of this Hauppauge!
