i like how gear three got messed up on jaegers setup, but its really good, my fave so far.
Trying to edit it but RD keeps messing up

Is anyone else really struggling in sector 3 in AUS? I'm versing legend AI and I'm losing like 1.5 - 1.8 seconds in the final sector.

Any tips?
I'm guessing your prob losing most of it through that very fast left-right s after the straight. The AI catches me big time if I don't nail that spot on, also the right hander immediately after seems I can't cary the kind of corner speed that I did in 2011. One thing I've noticed in the new game is how important it is to keep your tires clean. If you clip a corner a little to much and get some grass or dirt on them, it affects grip a lot more than 2011 and it takes longer to get them clean

Sector 3 in Melbourne is a pain in the ass indeed. I easily lose a 0.7s in that sector while I can keep up with or beat the AI (on legend) in sectors 1 & 2. I can get into Q2 on the primes with a bit of effort. However, once I hit Q2, I'm stuck at the back no matter what I try. I usually end up around 1.27.500-ish but that's still very slow compared to my teammate (Maldonado) who easily runs low 1.26s.

So either I'm doing something terribly wrong (wouldn't be impossible but given my experience playing the previous F1 titles I wouldn't call myself a rookie driver), or something's wrong with the AI times...

And jaeger is definetly right when it comes to grip loss due to going off track. In 2011, grass on the tyres was more of a visual effect than anything else. In 2012 however, putting a tyre on the dirt will usually mean you're about to have a bad time. For instance, I'm usually able to go flat out during the last turn in Melbourne (TC off btw) and I can activate my DRS even before I've completed the turn. If I try to do the same with a "dirty tyre" however, I'll either have to lift off or face the consequences...

Are these high front wing and low rear wing settings now normal in the game? A bit confusing because in 2010 and 2011 these setups were not fast.
