My bad English probably. The gear indicator in the steering wheel stays at (e.g.) 2, even when the shifter moves to the next gear, but changes to 3 when I actually shift with my real shifter...

Are you playing with an H-Sifter ?

Thats from "drivetrain.ini", it seems they intended to make a secuential change only kart:

SUPPORTS_SHIFTER=0 ; 1=Car supports shifter, 0=car supports only paddles

I use sequential shifter like IRL, but paddles work too (obviously because the drivetrain.ini is set up for them). It is a Fanatec HQ shifter connected to the V2 base, where the paddles are mapped to SQ, so I can use both inputs at the same time.

Can you try editing this line in "driver3d.ini" and tell me when you feel its OK by sound ?

Yes, if you put it too high, you disable it completly.

But the key is to find a value where its a hint for people who still don't know where to change ...
If you see the hand on the sifter, it's telling you you should change.

I also really like the VIR Patriot course, but only 10 pit boxes tends to limit things a little. I'm also pretty sure all the tracks would need new fast_lane and side files, as the shifter karts cannot take the curbing the way most larger cars can.

@Cercata @rex1825 There's been a bit of interest lately in adding liveries, cm paint shop support, a 250 shifter, etc for the karts. This may be a good time to iron out some remaining details and create a proper v1.0 of the racing karts with a packed data.acd. Any objections? Anybody want to volunteer?
