This is based in the GoKart 0.3a from @rex1825.
The MOD was quite complete, but some .ini files had some values that I guess were there for testing.
With very few changes, I made some improvements:
  • IA doesn't seem drunk anymore
  • IA is much more competitive
  • Karts take less Damage
  • Pilot head not visible for VR
  • Automatic gears now work
  • Suspension & Tyres more realistic
  • Stuttering fixed
  • Tyre model updated to V10
  • 3 Tyres available for every kart (Soft, Medium, Hard)
  • data.acd for better multiplayer (comming in October)
I added also 3 karts, similar to the ones you can usually rent, to complement the 4 competition models, so this are the karts:
  • 270cc -> 8bhp, 150kg
  • 390cc -> 12bhp, 150kg
  • 250cc -> 28bhp, 143kg
  • 50cc -> 13bhp, 70kg
  • 100cc -> 22bhp, 71kg
  • 125cc -> 31bhp, 71kg
  • 125cc shitfer turbo -> 41(28)bhp, 74kg
  • 125cc shifter SGM -> 48bph, 74kg (comming in October)

  1. 0.5c - Tyre model updated to the latest

  3. 0.5a - No more stuttering, YES !!!!!

The updates are a huge step in the right direction.

The major "inaccuracy" is the level of tire grip. It's a tad too low compared to the real thing. This version is producing just over 1 lateral G. The virtual platform might be able to handle 1.5 lateral G's which is closer to what these karts do in real life. A front and rear sway bar adjustability option would be nice as well. Roll stiffness adjustability is a real option on karts.

Example: In real life 125 shifters are doing 48-49s at Sonoma Raceway's kart track. I'm working really hard to do mid 54s with these.

Dynamically this kart does feel pretty good. Shows how flexible the Assetto platform is.

Just tried the 125 (non shifter). Not really bad, but to much under steer. I was not able to correct this in the setup.

Excelente trabajo, hay algunas cosillas que pulir, con algunos kerbs, pero están muy divertidas las pistas.
Se hace muy divertido el juego con los karts....
Me gustaría hacerte una petición, el Kartódromo de Valga ( Galicia)

Really fun to drive and AI seems to handle them very well.
However, some specific tracks can't handle a full field (game will crash on those), there seem to be clashes, especially with modded tracks. I absolutely love driving against the AI in the 125cc shifter kart in the short version of Highlands and modded tracks like Donington Park. 9/10, excellent mod. Thank you!

This Kart mod is something we always come back to after a long day. Having a practice session with your mates and racing a little bit is always great fun. The physics are insanely fun as the karts allow you to slide or drive clean with relative ease.

Everyone should try this mod with a few friends.

Amazing! However I've noticed there's more of a performance hit using these karts as opposed to using normal modded cars. Would love a performance update, then these would be perfect!!

REALLY GOOD KARTS! But on races the ai karts don't really go off the line at all. So it needs fixing.

Tried the 125 and 50 models and really enjoyed both on some karting tracks. Force Feedback default setup works really well on a my Thrustmaster TMX and after a slight camera positioning adjustment in-game, is brill in VR too!

Very enjoyable to race these karts. The 125 Shifter Karts are my favourites. It would be nice to have shifters in more than one class - but i'm not complaining.
