Apps FFBClip app 5.3

I recently got my T818 base and since then I randomly lose ffb in AC. When I then turn Dynamic on and off, the ffb is back again. When I disable ffbclip, I never lose ffb. Is this a know issue?
Yes it is, but I can't remember why and what, sorry.
Just be assured that it's a known thing.
Keep ffbclip and the normal AC ffb app open and check the ffb level (per-car-gain).
It probably drops to 0% when you lose the ffb.

Yes that's exactly what happens. Sucks. But at least I was relieved that ffbclip was the cause and not my dd base failing ;)

Is your in-game ffb gain set to 100%? The app assume this, and you can get gain creep if it isn't.
I have had this happen in the past. Just go to the combos,ini file and delete the offending line, and start over.
Where is this combos.ini file? I checked my documents and AC folder but don't seem to have that one..

I uninstalled FFB clip app but my FFB is really heavy and is always clipping. I haven't done anything except uninstall it and have no Idea why it did that. Does anyone know why?
Check this file:
\\Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg
-> user_ff.ini

That contains the "per-car-gain" values for each car that you've ever driven.

FFB Clip might have set a lot of cars to 200% or so.
To reset all cars to 100%, you don't have to change them all!
Simply open the user_ff.ini and delete everything inside of it.
Then save and close the file.
If you change the per-car-gain from now on, a fresh entry will be created :)

Thanks, the car that had really heavy ffb seemed to sort itself out but there were a few cars which I tested FFBClip on which were above 1.000:)

Yeah ffb clip sometimes raises the gain a lot until you reach some higher ffb levels.
Then it will lower it to something reasonable!

You could also change the Mode to manual and check the graph for yourself:
\\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\apps\python\FFBClip\Config

FFBClip.ini
[PreferredMode]
PreferAutoMode=0
PreferManualMode=1
PreferGlobalMode=0
PreferGraph=1

[Minimized]
RunMinimized=0
# 0 - Runs the app with the graph
# 1 - Disables the graph for less screen clutter

The first issue that I mentioned has now happened again. Even with FFBClip uninstalled and the ffb on all cars set to 1.000, I still have maximum ffb in game even after I turned the ffb setting in ac down to just 1%. It feels like FFBClip has damaged ac somehow and now made the ffb permanently at 100%. I have verified the ac files and it still is at 100%. (or at least feels like it). When I look on the FFBClip graph, every time I move the wheel a tiny bit when driving at any speed the green line shoots up and goes higher than the graph can show. It is also clipping when I look at my pedal and ffb app. Do you think I should reinstall AC or do you know a way to fix it?

What is your menu ffb gain?

Try a Kunos car, no mod car.
What value shows when pressing the minus key in your numpad (adjusting the per-car-gain while driving).

Reinstalling AC won't help.
Ffb clip can't change AC files.
There's either ffb clip having bugs or something else is changing the files.

So check what the ffb level is while driving!

Tried kunos cars, still the same.

And what's the ffb per car gain while on track?

Next question would be about your wheel settings..

If you use very low degrees or screwed up some of the other settings in the controls axis section, it can also boost your ffb like crazy.

And in your wheel software too.

Mhh.. and AC looks like this?

If yes, I have no further ideas, sorry :(

If you "reinstall" AC, you'll need to move your Documents\Assetto Corsa folder to somewhere else. ("Backup & Delete").
Also when "uninstalling" via Steam, all mods will stay in the Steam-folder!

So you'll have to move the \\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa folder somewhere else too.

Afaik Content Manager doesn't store anything controller related. It only reads out the AC config files.
So you don't have to delete that too.

I have found the problem. It was nothing to do with FFBClip, I think, but when I first installed it I found a video on the best settings and they enabled FFB tweaks in CSP. When I enabled it I changed some settings not knowing what they do and when I was trying to figure out why my FFB was so high, I completely forgot that I messed around with the FFB tweaks section and when I turned it off it went back to normal.
