I stopped watching the nf and espn last year.too many cry babies.and all espn wants to tell me about is how bad these pricks have it in our supposed racists society..and pushing this transgender madness.oh a tranny can beat down women in mma.he no she no it is so brave and courageous. Give me a break..

First it was Vick, then it was the concussion idiocy, then it's the "when does the receiver actually possess the ball" B.S., and now it's a millionaire complaining about how tough he has it and how unfair America is to him. Fu*k off Kapernick. And fu*k off NFL. Go watch a Steelers game cira 1979 and you will have real football. Today, we have Hollywood football. No thanks. I'd rather watch soccer, where at least the dives are part of the game instead of some hidden agenda.

You and me both Rob!!

I won't be downloading any more DLC that is not included in the season pass though until we know the problem has been fixed for good.

Good news that the next patch is here but crazy that they have not even posted about this on their own forums... and still no mention of a fix for the online problem we have all been having. It's good that it seems to be working now with this patch, although I have not tried it myself yet, but without definitive word from them that they have found the problem and fixed it it still concerns me that it could return at any time. A ha! Should be interesting. I'll download anything free from now on, but clearly they are like a version of the keystone cops at Kunos. Being small hella is watts... They can do what they want... Make a better driving Sim than anyone, but then not be able to deal with the massive bureaucracy that is Microsoft. I will always blame MS, until I know for sure, but that's not an excuse. 98t back on... With good tire wear I hope.

We'll be giving AC a go again today at Zandvoort in the 458 GT2 to see if it's going to be stable enough for a league race again. Looks like the only way to fix it up was to do a major re-write that wipes it all clean. Files save and delete, and are retained for the next day. AI is better, actually feels like a real race with them now. Quite a few bug fixes are done like you said the 98T and the Porsche downshift level, etc.... You can button map now, but some of the buttons are still not fully functional. And users are reporting varying success with finding servers. But, if you 'Create" one you can send invites to everyone else in your party to join the session and get on with it. We did it yesterday and it ran good thru the whole practice, qual, and race. We were testing, but I ran the whole thing thru to make sure it would get to the end without a hick-up.
A bud said that users may be experiencing different symptoms of the same bug due to Network settings or limitations like firewall in your router, or NAT settings, etc... At any rate, like you said, it drives good, and if MS is sandbagging, we'll know as soon as pC2 is released. I just hope that pC2 has seen all this crap with MS and has revised their menu system too before release.
If you pre-ordered pC2 you should be getting a notice about the availability to down load it now, and have it installed at time of release. It's 43GB and takes about 45 minutes on a Ethernet line. I wouldn't recommend doing it on WiFi, or even running on WiFi for that matter. LOL I'll let you all know how it goes today with AC and maybe we can continue on if there's time and interest.
Cheers

Thanks for all that testing Peter. That is very valuable. From my perspective, it's assetto it nothing, but we have a couple weeks to test.
Sounds like it's back to normal, plus some good improvements.

We've only got 2 free Sundays out of the next six unfortunately, next week 24th September and 15th October but hopefully if the game proves stable over that time the series could be continued.

It still seems hit and miss for some as there's lots of people still can't access the servers so as I expected they haven't actually fixed it fully. I'll try from my end tonight if i can.

On pCars 2 unfortunately digital is a no-go over here due to the excessive hike in price for that format and the fact you can only get it as part of a bundle with the Japanese car pack which I feel is a bit of a liberty as its not something I would neccesarily want. My disc pre-order has been shelved now and I will be waiting to see what problems it has on release before deciding on when to purchase. Patch 2 is due to hit in the early weeks of October so at the moment that's where I'm aiming for if things go smoothly.

Actually the race for today was cancelled, but I'm running another one on THU in AOR with the 911 Cup 2017, so we'll see how that goes.
UPD: Pick up some open lobby's and ran a few cars from the new DLC pak, and all was good. Except that the McLaren P1 GTR is either not built right, or I'm just the worst driver ever. Oh yeah, and there was open servers listed.

The good thing about an informal league with assetto is that it's informal. If it is working, even intermittently, I'll be racing somewhere if possible. It's better than the rest when it works.
Pcars 2 is a day one buy for me. And leagues will be everywhere, including here, I'm sure.

Our problem has been that the times it has been working have not coincided with our races over the past month :( Hopefully that changes now.

Yeah I'm sure but I'm holding fire to make sure the problems on release are sorted out. I'm hoping the release day patch is enough but understand the second patch in October is going to be very important.

Not sure when the DSRL league is starting but I'll keep checking there to see.

In addition my daughter is due to give birth any time now so I'll be unavailable for racing for a short while then so no point buying something until I can spend time with it.

We are 2-2. That's hardly a reason to call it a lost cause.

I'm confused again. Was the patch that was not a patch (or not announced until after it was released by MS) also a DLC? If so, do you have to buy it, or is the content free?

What allegedly will make the game less playable on release? After patch one? After the October patch? I can't imagine it will take a step back from pCARS1.

In addition my daughter is due to give birth any time now so I'll be unavailable for racing for a short while then so no point buying something until I can spend time with it.

Now that is a good reason. All the best to you and your family.

A 50% success rate is hardly something to celebrate tbh but I've not called it a lost cause at all and am with you in that I hope it's now resolved which is why I've mentioned about us continuing on the next two free Sundays. However, the fact they have not come out and said they have found the problem and have fixed it makes me question whether it's really fixed at all especially as plenty of people are still not having big problems with it.

The patch was a patch but it's from Kunos not MS and all the patches have come with DLC built into the code which of course you have too pay for to release. I hoped they would maybe give us it free or discoubted as a thankyou for your patience gesture after all the issues we've had but that hasn't happened... a bit optimistic I know lol

I'm just being more cautious with it this time, a lot to lay out for this year and there's no huge rush for me with so much going on at the moment. With a second patch already in the works to fix some fundamental problems I see no reason to jump in and start with it until that is live. Of course if it comes out cleaner than anticipated and the feedback from everyone indicates no problems I might get it sooner if I'm in a position to play it and am not up in Manchester with my daughter.

And I, in fact, have been their biggest critic, at times. It's hard to keep up with theAssetto forums with all the PC-using, self-riteous, Kunos apologists on there. Now I just laugh when one guy comes on to tell us Jews that we really should be happy; that the Gentiles are completely brilliant; and in fact, the baked-in discrimination of console players (who don't get access or answers) is just and proper because The Reichstag (Kunos) decrees it so, despite our Jewish lying eyes. (Sorry, identity politics are all en vogue now).

Sorry for the rant. lol. But long story short, I think we are simpatico on this, but don't know it yet. Like Reagan famously said -- "trust but verify" at this point.

okay. Well, I guess I was looking at this myopically, since I have the season pass, so I'm assuming I'll get this DLC upon patch download. Although, they are separate, for sure. Thanks for the explanation.

Somewhat overlooked in this discussion are the improvements to the handling (which they are obsessed with, thank god, even to the neglect of other massive failings), like single axle upgrades, a completely revamped A.I. system, and a borderline improved :)confused: how?) handling model, with specific improvements to many cars and the entire braking system. It's a massive patch. How they sat on it with almost zero talk from the console media (which says as much about Kunos' commitment to improvements as it does about Kunos' neglect of console players) is a wonder. But it's an Easter Egg that hopefully will allow us to get serious about league racing with this incredible (mostly) game.

Unfortunately not Rob, the DLC included in the season pass are done and dusted and this and future DLC are to be paid for separately .

I picked up the season pass some time ago when it was available on Xbox Gold at half price and it outlines in the blurb which of the dlc it covered.
