Following a pause in new releases, RaceRoom Racing Experience will resume releasing fresh content before the end of March.

The long-awaited Circuit de Pau-Ville will become available for RaceRoom Racing Experience ‘next week’.

The venerated French street circuit, which has its roots as far back as 1933, was initially announced for an October 2023 release for the free-to-enter sim racing platform.

But plans changed. While a significant update in the form of a new tyre model was released in December, alongside the 2023 DTM pack which added real-world liveries and the Ferrari 296 GT3, Pau has been mysteriously missing.

That will change in a matter of days, however, as it will be part of an “upcoming content drop” according to the KW Studios-developed simulation.

Perhaps best known for holding the ‘Grand Prix de Pau’, across Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3, Formula 3000 and Formula 4 rulesets (among others), the event has been won by a vaunted list of drivers including Juan Manuel Fangio, Alberto Ascari, Jim Clark, Jack Brabham, Gil de Ferran, Juan Pablo Montoya Lewis Hamilton.

It is also etched into many more contemporary memories for an ill-advised safety car call, which robbed WTCC independent driver Franz Engstler of a possible victory in the most inauspicious of circumstances.

Speaking of that particular championship, RaceRoom does not have the 2009 season available, but 2013 is which includes Engstler’s (then turbocharged) BMW E90 with the distinctive Liqui Moly sponsorship.

There’s also a lineage to KW Studio’s Race 07 project (KW Studios formerly Sector3 Studios, formerly SimBin Studios – it’s all a bit complicated and for another time) which featured this venue nearly 17 years ago.

No pricing has been announced for this new representation of the venue, with recent additions typically around £4.25/€4.98. We also await an exact release date and confirmation if Pau will be the only new addition. Either way, RaceRoom’s content releases look to be back on track.

Great. I have race07 installed just for Pau.

Though I don't like the f3/F2 in raceroom compared to the f3000 of race07

Pau-Ville is not my cup of tea.
Amazing would be Oulton Park, Barcelona, Sebring, Kyalami.
Hopefully KW-Studios will bring GTE class with Corvette C8 and Ford GTLM someday.
New Ford Mustang and Lexus would be amazing as well!

They really are flogging a dead horse with this sim. Ranked race numbers are awful.

Race 07 with all the messy content divide as standalone games than latter becoming part of Race 07, still a lot a fun today a lot of unique tracks and cars, like STCC, Pau is great Circuit that I never manage to do on lap without hitting a curb, sometimes seems more difficult than the mother or all street circuits Macau.

As someone who works on tracks, I take my hat off to the KW team, those screenshots look beautiful!

I look forward to installing RRE again one day. When the game engine/gfx gets updated for weather and day/night. I got completely bored of dry lapping in daylight. I love street circuits, but I hate the outdated game engine much more lol.

With AC2 around the corner and iR getting an impressive implementation of rain - RRE is running out of time. Plus, let's not forget the outside chance that Ian Bell might for once make an exceptional sim if he can be arsed to put our needs before profit. Stop laughing lol...
;)

I kept buying DLC to support RRE too, even when not using it. A bit crazy really. I hope KW Studios seriously cares about modernizing the outdated game engine - time will tell...

4-5 years back R3E was a sim, which I fired up a lot and came close after rF2 in terms of my personal playtime. It's still a decent sim, also received some significant updates in the last couple of years but there are so many new or established sims available which feels more fresh or received quality of life updates on a high rate....and it's already hard to choose between them for some proper time.
I really wonder if Raceroom will get some fundamental updates like graphics engine, track dynamic features etc.. anytime.
Unfortunately I'm not supporting the game for quite a while now. I know I wouldn't play it and the way R3E is going does not give me arguments that I consider to change my mind.

As far as I know Pau has only been in 3 games officially; Spirit of Speed 1937, RACE 07 and soon RaceRoom Racing Experience.

On one hand I was happy to spend 450 hours in this sim, on the other hand frustrated that graphically it remains unchanged.

Like the sales model - a new user gets in for pennies, and the sim is always less favourable for the old users.

I'm keen for this track... Raceroom has it's appeal, it's just hard to find a group you have content for... It is missing some features, but it nails what it has...

Instant buy for me because i love this track, but really the Com from this team is disastrous. The track was due to be released in October 2023, there is no Com, a roadmap not followed. No response to players' questions about the future of this title. R3E I don't believe it anymore
