Thanks Michael, the idea just now is to sort of "force" people, for want of a better word...,to try out some cars they might not even think of choosing, like the Marcos for example if it was open choice GTS,would probably not get a look in,and the BMW would probably end up 90% of the grid :p,now hopefully the guys who have tried it have found a new love in their life, and future events they will jump for it,with hindsight i think maybe the one mandatory stop could have made it more interesting, but the race i just had its hard to imagine it being improved..,until the next time ofcourse .

OMG!!

One only sour note i remember was just after passing some traffic,Greg had a spin at our favourite spin corner,i slowed up too much for safety there trying to choose a side to go,i have a terrible knack of choosing the wrong way to go to avoid, sadly this caused one of the traffic guys to whump my back end :(,hope it didnt mess you up too much m8,and sorry again.

.
Hi garry .. it was me who whumped youre back ... realy nothing i could do just then , i was locking my breaks and just sliding in to you , any way i was wondering why you was standing still as i saw it .... i tought if maby you put him off the track and in good sport, was waiting for him to return om track ....
so NP M8 ..... an simple racing insident .... did not cost me anything
cy next time

And as some said i did not go for any pitstop...... but maybe i should i done that ... my tire was like spagetti .... did not like the car at all when loaded with 93l fuel

like driving a lorry.... but next time maby cy : all

I still cant make up my mind if a one stop strategy would have beat Greg doing zero stop, but i agree tyres near the end were not nice,i didnt have any problems with my heavy fuel, early in the race was the best for me.

probaly yes gary cuz you would start of with lesser fuel with tha gab you could make up in 30 mins you maybe would come out of pit close behind him with now same fuel but
lovely fresh tyers :)

if i can take 2 secs each lap of you two i think you would have gained up to 3 on gregory with fresh tyers

I had a cool race, enjoyed it immensely.

Got no experience of the Silverstone before tonight, at least none worth a mention, and same goes with the cars (had only 3 laps in each of mosler, spyker, marcos prior to making choice of marcos due to its unbelievably stable handling characteristics).

Handling characteristics paid off over brute speed for me, further proven by Simon who did all he could to get past in the faster but less stable Spyker, but the Marcos held its ground like a trojan, allowing me to brake very late, and accellerate very early lap after lap after lap and so keep Simon's worst at bay ... enjoyed turning the tables and putting pressure back on you to make mistakes ... was a great psychological battle

Nice driving tho Simon and thanks for waiting after our coming together ... you's a gent :thumb:

Shame you went off, 'cos I was hoping to see you make a small mistake or two so I could catch you and hassle you in return ...

After my battle and off track experience with Simon I got my head down and caught Andrew again ... who promptly spun and let me past ... thanks

Mid part of race went well, kept a good pace up, made up some ground, pitted early and did 50l top up with 4 new shoes.

Near the end I followed Gary and Gregory around for a long while ... should have paid for tickets to watch that fight

Had Neil drinking his Tennants behind me in his BMW, managed to hold him at 6 or 7 seconds for a while, but then he started making ground on me ... was losing time and thought I just had 2 x laps to go, but miscalculated and it was 3
He was pushing hard, but finally managed to hold him off and take the line with a 6th ...

Thanks Gary ... great fun, and as a family bloke who enjoys his late night racing fixes, I can say that this is spot on for me :thumb:

BTW ... result and pic ... of me doing my best yet blue flag shifty over manoeuvre near end of race so as not to hold Greg up in his fight with Gary, nor to let Neil gain too much ground on me in our little battle ... quite proud of that one
