i just did a 2.04.504 in the no-chicane, in the Xtreme Chevy with the default setup + all aids (apart from auto gears) turned off. is that a good time?

Dont worry, reaching the finish line is the art ! Doesnt matter when you get lapped, that happens to many people !

Do you have a chance to drive without auto gears? Will improve your performance (after some training), I am 100% sure.

Agreed. Don't worry too much John, I'm sure me and you will keep each other company Just keep the car on the tarmac, and you never know what'll happen in the end.

I have tried but it just doesnt work. Upshifting is ok, i just cant downshift properly. I wish simbin sims had a mode where the AI would downshift for you, but make you do the upshifts, like ISI's.

Start a thread on this outside of this, as this would go offtopic. I am sure you will learn it... (downshifting is not only about pressing the downshift button)

Qualified 2nd behind Marcel. The start was bad and I lost a couple of positions. I managed to get back up to 2nd and was closing on Peter. Until I got a black flag for a 3rd cut track warning. The rules on the last 2 chicanes for the cut track are really paticular. I don't understand how a track with no run off has such bad cut track rules. Hit the wall entering pit road and got suspension damaged. Fixed it, then pited again for the black flag. Everything was going well until I got ANOTHER black flag! Same chicane and apparently there is no 3 warnings after the first black flag.

All in all, with 3 pitstops, I still managed a close 4th place and the fastest race lap. See you next Sunday :beer:
