Part Timers

(This applies to @rubaru @Dovi design, @Slyfrequency and @Márk Lintner, as they have part time spaces available. If you want to run a part timer, then you can build more cars. Simple)

To place a bid on a part timer, you need to do the following.

1- State the driver name
2- State for how many rallies they will compete in.
3- State which rallies they will compete in.

Part timers can only compete in seven rallies a season, but you can have more than one part time driver. You can't have two part timers competing in the same event. The wage they will receive depends on how many rallies you decide to offer them. If you offer them seven, then their wage will be 50% of the stated price. Drivers will pick the contract with the most rallies available to them.

If they receive a bid for the same number of rallies, then a bidding war will begin, where the highest bid wins.

Part Time Deals

- 2003 world champion and thirteen time rally winner Petter Solberg returns to rally for the first time since 2012. He hasn't won a WRC event since 2005, and will look to put an end to that with Mitsubishi, competing in the first seven rounds of the championship

- Nine time world champion and seventy eight time rally winner Sebastian Loeb will return to the sport for the first time since the 2015 Monte Carlo Rally. He has a seven race deal with Mitsubishi to compete in the last seven rounds of the championship

- After extensive testing, World RallyCross Champion and former DTM champion Mattias Ekstrom will make the step up to the WRC with Skoda. He has a five round deal, competing at Monte Carlo, Sweden, Tour de Corse, Ypres and Germany

- Nani Roma, a two time Dakar champion, will compete in a part time program with Skoda. He will compete at five rounds, which are Mexico, Argentina, Portugal, Poland and Catalunya

- Aleksey Lukyanuk, last seasons runner up in the European Rally Championship, will compete in a four round deal with Skoda in 2017. He has had one prior WRC start in Finland, 2013. He will compete there, along with rounds at Norway, Britain and Australia

Privateer Team Deals
There are 14 privateer teams that will be competing this season, and they will all be competing for the WRC Trophy, along with a bunch of privateer drivers who don't have a team. Above you can see which drivers each team is entering into each rally (if they are entering)

Below is the list of these teams and the number of cars they want to order from you.
- Abu Dhabi Total World Rally Team (3 Cars)
- PH Sport (2 Cars)
- Eurolamp World Rally Team (1 Car)
- FWRT s.r.l (2 Cars)
- J-Motorsport (2 Cars)
- Adapta Motorsport (3 Cars)
- BRC Racing (1 Car)
- Printsport (1 Car)
- TGS Worldwide OU (2 Cars)
- Wevers Motorsport (2 Cars)
- Lotos Rally Team (3 Cars)
- Heuvel Motorsport (1 Car)
- Napoca Rally Academy (2 Cars)
- TAIF Motorsport (1 Car)

Now, teams that need three cars are likely to want a low price as they have to spend more, whereas teams with one car are likely to spend more. However teams with more cars will probably bring in more prize money

You can now inbox me the teams you would like to approach. Then the negotiations will begin. You can only have two teams that use your car (but handily, there is enough for one team each, just saying). Whoever offers that team the best price will give them the cars. You can choose teams tatically

How do we even know where to begin with the price of a contract? Are we expecting millions or a few thousand? Can you give us some kind of benchmark?

Well, a WRC car costs 800k to build.

This pretty much. It depends on how much money you want to make or how much you are prepared to lose. Each team has a minimum price and a maximum price they are willing to pay.

For 1-2 car teams, this will usually be above the 800K mark, but three car teams will try and get cars cheaper than that. Of course, if you go low, you will make a loss but teams are nearly guaranteed to accept your offer, depending on other deals they have received. If you have bidded too high, then they will see if they can get it cheaper from you and then they will try again with the other teams. They want the best deal they can possibly get

its senseless if i dont make profit?

Are you saying that I have to pay 800k to build another car and then try to sell it to a Privateer? If I sell to a Privateer for 800k then there is zero profit unless they get prize money.

Correct but some (probably more than less) teams will pay more than 800K. It's not a requirement (like don't bid if you don't want to) but it's a way of earning money if you play it correctly

What is the purpose of the privateer teams?

It's a way for any young drivers to gain experience and then maybe improve, potentially you could use the drivers to test (mainly to help them improve but it might help you in the long run), it could be used as a way to view what drivers are like. I mean it's hard to tell how good some people are until you see them actually compete. Finally, as @rubaru said, they can be used to make more money for yourself

In my case, there are a few young drivers that I scouted before signings took place, and I see them on the Privateer teams. I'm going to try to sell my car to that team so I can watch if a driver will improve enough to bring up to my big league team in the future.

Ahh, I see. Thanks :)

A suggestion for future seasons: Teams could perhaps build R5 cars and try to sell them to privateer teams. That way the young/gentleman drivers would compete in different category, like in real life. :)

I think that's what we're doing here. Those privateers might be driving the same rally as us, but they aren't directly competing against us.

They are driving the same rally in the same class of car, but at the end of the day, the privateers won't be challenging you guys directly and will be racing for a separate championship while they are still eligible to score in the WRC (However, there are one or two drivers that may put in a very strong showing, but then again it will take time for them to get the upgrades you make) In future, I do like the idea of putting them in the R5 class of cars and then you would get that separation a bit more.

That way you get more of the WRC-2 and WRC-3 route
