Windows 10 update KB5034441: Caramel coated cluster nut

If anyone is starting a Civil Lawsuit count me in !

Imagine if it was found this was a attempt from MS to increase W11 numbers.
I mean is that out of the realms of possibility ?

Don't they need to explain why they deployed it well knowing it would affect many users.

W11 is imune right ?

P.S.
I think I might do a test W11 see how much has changed and what is now working better.
Have VPN behind router so can just let it run online and do it's worse.
* I let it do full update and drivers so I can work out if any versions are updated, then manually download W11 updates and drivers from update history and run another install offline ;)
Couple hours big deal if rFactor2 runs as good I'm in. lol
Wheres dem' darn spare thumb drives gone! :roflmao:

From below appears that at least W11 23H2 is not affected.

Affected platforms:
  • Client: Windows 11, version 21H2; Windows 10, version 22H2; Windows 10, version 21H2
  • Server: Windows Server 2022

Just checking:
So this bitlocker hack can be done to any windows apart from W11 23H2 even though you don't even have Bitlocker enabled or accessible ?

Then how about all the pre-configured devices come installed with W11.
Most of these people wouldn't have a bitlocker key in their MS accounts. :ninja:

Not sure what you mean by this?

Sorry meant the bitlocker security issue.
Brought a cheap W11 OEM Pro before I commit so far have jumped most hurdles.
I understand you need to be logged in to enable bitlocker ( I am not using it )
and that will put the key in your MS account.
I was just thinking of the W11 systems that come pre-configured with bitlocker, apparently it is not uncommon. Was just wondering if you did a fresh OS how would you get your key ?

Anyways not a issue for me I won't be using it.
Loving this so far compared to last disaster attempt for W11.
Open Shell, Winaero and Explore Patcher has it looking very close to my W10.

Anyway of moving that "Control Centre" icon in taskbar ?

Ah, well the security issue is only a problem if you have encrypted data to be compromised, right? :) If you aren't using Bitlocker then malware which could try to read your encrypted data can just read the plain text data without breaking a sweat instead...

Not sure I understand this question but if you get a machine with Bitlocker preinstalled then you better make a backup of the key... If you wipe the disk and start from zero then you can start afresh with a new key. (I have used Bitlocker a few times but am rusty as it's not on any boxes I use regularly.)

Had tjc tell me after doing fresh installs on a tower and a laptop I been helping him with
( both W10 Home) that the update is now installed and his partitions are 554mb. :O_o: Placebo ?

He sent me pics of update history and his recovery partition.

Second update down

What ? so it will install even on a 554mb partition ?
how is that even possible ?
If it did not put the update but history clearly says it has....... :O_o:

P.S.
I never once suggested it does not work fine for many and honestly that is not relevant. Operating systems should not be Pot Luck.

Both my towers are now W11 Pro last 24 hours , I am finding it more seamless and smoother then W10 compared to last time I tested.
Huge difference, last time I tried it was a disaster too many bugs
This trip I have not had a bug at all and found tools for perfect W10 look.
I like a very clean left menu desktop and W11 now delivers this.

As long as rF2 peforrmance is within a 1% or so I will be keeping W11 ;)

Actually now I glad they made this mess.
Not waiting for W12 to go through teething stage for 2 years.

Thanks for your valueable input. :D

You think if your barbs would in the slightest way affect me I would announce I was going to give W11 a whirl ? :roflmao:

I very much like new and improved W11, difference since last tests is nothing short of simply amazing.

Thats the great thing about life, we are allowed to be free and to do as we wish.

lol just another thought :)

Since you were the one announced on here a fix would hopefully be out last Tuesday I was wondering, do you have any fresh intel for us ? :x3:

My latest mail says March

From your posts I understood you might not know about patch Tuesday. Didn't bother to point it out but good you're checking again.

Patch Tuesday is once a month. And has been for the past +20 years.

Tuesday is soup day, is everybody happy.
I don't really care about such things.
No insider, pause updates as long as I can, I turn off everything Bill humanly possible.
My security measures are better then anything Bill can give me in a heartbeat.

Yeah like I said MARCH my source says, we will see.
W11 and rF2 testing this weekend all goes well I am a W11 convert.

2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441) There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80070643)

Hello ! :) lol

So how is that W10 fix going for you ? :coffee: Monthly updates lol
Yes of course I also said from very start I used mini tool to fix issue.
That is not the point because there are millions upon millions simply PC illiterates
some of which took their towers to shops to get fixed which then cost got jacked up on many.
Oh you should get a SSD you should get this.

Oh what happens if PC crashes and needs a fresh OS.
By default they are told to delete all partitions.

I still believe what I said from opening.
In my opinion this was a planned and concerted attempt to shift users to W11.
I hope US authority comes down on them like a ton of bricks.
They cost uneducated users millions.

Loving W11 Pro, rF2 + LMU run like rocket ships :x3: ( 7800X3D-RTX4080S)
Not a single bug or issue or change I could not work around to my 100% satisfaction.
Took more then a few installs but I got it there, as close to perfect as you could wish.
