Where to buy?

Just saw this post on Steam. Steam is full of random indie puzzle games, and this isn't in...

Farming Sim 2013 did not have to go through Greenlight and was accepted directly to Steam it seems. The quality of the game alone is not the only decisive factor, it's also about who submits it to Valve. In this regard sadly SCS Software is a newcomer to Steam and must prove that there is interest in the games that we create. So far it looks like it will be tough - at the moment ETS2 is #43 on Greenlight, going down by a few positions during the past week rather than gaining places :-(. Maybe there are indeed not enough potential customers for our game here on Steam?

Just paid for it with paypal. After payment was done, it took me back to Fastsprings web site where I received error message. When I clicked back it said thank you for your purchase:confused: Have not received any e-mail yet, that was 3 hours ago. Received Paypal receipt. I have now sent an e-mail to fastsprings.:(

Edit: Fastsprings responded to my e-mail.

But I have purchased the game, I have paypal receipt. I do not wish to pay twice.

SCS are really cool. If you speak to them directly and show them the info I'm sure they will push it from their end for you although you might be stuck without a reply until the working week starts again.

By now, he already expire the demo limit time to play, but seems like if you create a new profile you can keep playing with it.:D
I thought there was no time limit...? Just a limit in content?
Liam Jenkins was playing last night and it ended for him too. It appears to be both time/job and feature limited.

You can only perform jobs for companies in hire trucks and the limit runs out after what I guess for him was a couple of hours.

I didn't even end the demo and bought the game. ;) I love it. This is my first truck sim! I tried almost all the others but never liked them (crappy graphics, odd handling, wrong proportions, etc.) but this one is great, even though FSAA totaly sucks... I hope they will fix that quickly. I restarted with a new profile and drive as much as possible by the rules. Great fun.

About the purchase: I bought the game on the official site and the serial was shown on the site IMMEDIATELY after completing the purchase. However, the mail from SCS with the serial ended up in my spam box: the other two mails I received (SCS and PayPal) didn't, but they didn't have the serial in it.

So: do not close the browser too quickly or you might miss the serial AND check your spam box if you missed it anyway.

If Euro Truck 2 eventually makes it onto Steam, will it be possible for those that buy it directly from scssoft.com to get a Steam key for it?

SCS Software said:
If Steam makes this technically possible to issue such keys - provided that ETS2 emerges out of Greenlight victorious) - we'll be happy to allow our customers to use the platform that they are most comfortable with to play their games.

If it's not on Steam till the end of the week, I guess I'll have to purchase it elsewhere, and hope I'll be able to activate it when it does show up on Steam. Silly Steam.

Indeed, I fail to see the reasoning behind the Greenlight thing. I'd understand if it was a random indie puzzle game, but not a proper, big game, with an established community, and a sequel...

I think the reason is that most large developers pay a fee to Valve to use the distribution platform. In the case of green light projects I believe they will receive a slice of sales revenue only. As a result the voting system ensures that enough people are interested in buying the game for Valve to make their costs back and some profit too.

Oh, didn't know that.

But surely almost all of those games will be small and unknown, and there is little chance any of them will be worthwhile that way. Guess I can forget on ETS2 being on Steam :(
