Wheel not detected

I have 2 USB joysticks and a Saitek R440 plugged into my system.

The old GPLegends detects the R440 without a problem but rFactor and GP4 do not detect it.

I suspect it is because the R440 is the 3rd controller. Is there any way to 'promote' the R440 to be the 1st controller or any other way to get GP4 and rFactor to detect the R440?

If I unplug the 2 joysticks both GP4 and rFactor detect the R440 but that is not an easy option for me because of how my tower is sited.
