I am now in my late 30's and I can remember when video's were first introduced to the mainstream - VHS, Betamax and we even had a v2000. Anyway, in the UK watching an 18(x) or 15(AA) certificate movie at the cinema was near impossible if you weren't old enough just as it is now but renting videos was a different matter. I don't remember how my parents reacted or if I even told them but the age restrictions were almost never enforced at video rental stores. I rented and watched Zombie Flesheaters, Dawn of the Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre etc. and the certificate just seemed to be an advisory thing rather than a legal issue. I was wondering if anybody remembers or has any thoughts on this?
