Turbo and ABS with ai

Trying to sort out why the ai won't use turbo and abs on a certain car with adjustable both, I've changed the generic settings but it seems to just ignore them and created an AI_default, again ignored. Whenever I press ctrl-c it reports the turbo is set at 0% and doesn't do anything if I change it to 100%. Probably something stupid but can't think of what else to try?

AI doesn't use ABS, it just knows how to brake without locking up wheels. Not sure why it would change a turbo setting.

Not too worried abs, but I've found the only way of getting it to use the turbo is to delete the ai.ini file?
