Tires

Have base 2010 Toyota Matrix, tire size P205/55R16. It is recommended to put 195/65R15 for winter tires. Would a set of winter tires at 195/60R15 fit?

Hi Paul, the tires will fit but because of the overall diameter of the tire is slightly smaller it will have a bit of an effect on fuel mileage and also the speedometer reading will be slightly off.

No harm will be done to your vehicle if you decide to go with the 60's

Speaking of tires I bought new tires for my girlfriends car yesterday. I bought a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports .

I had recently bought BFG G Force Sport Comp II's but when i did the supercharger pulley upgrade and ecu tune i gained 55hp and 55lbs more torque. Stock hp on my gf's car is 540hp now is up to 595hp :D i found that the BFG's (285 35 19) hazed off the line way too much for my liking so i went a step wider with the Michelins (295 35 19). I kept the fronts the same stock width (255 40 19).

Man! what a difference it made for hard launches  bit wider tread and stickier rubber made it just that much more better.

I haven't done any hard cornering yet but looking forward to doing that soon :D
