Steering lock

Hey there guys!

I've been curious about one thing regards rFactor 2. So as in every single sim, there is an option to set Steering lock in the garage. I've seen a lot of setups not using the maximum value though. I'm yet to find a logical reason to that, because as long as I'm smooth with the wheel, the lock doesn't really matter, it makes slides and corrections a lot easier, so there's no reason somebody wouldn't set it all the way up, is there? I'd apperciate some form of logical/physical answer to that. Thanks in advance.

I do think it has to to with the degrees you have setup your wheel.
Some have it set to 270 degrees , others to 540 or even 900 degrees rotation of their wheel.
If you have set it to 900 degrees and setup the steering lock to like 13 degrees, you have to steer a lot to make the 13 degrees, but it will be very accurate.
It has to do with the feel and how quick and or accurate you want to steer the car. Too much lock will make the car oversteering and it will waer your tires more quickly.

I hope I explained it a bit understandable... :p
