STCC - The Game (pre-release thread)

On this site they say there is a STCC game coming. RACE 07 + STCC as a game or only STCC as expansion pack.

Sounds very interesting. Let it be true

STCC Game

STCC AB and SimBin Studios AB will release the racing game STCC – The Game on PC this year with all the cars and tracks from this years STCC season. The game will be available both as a stand alone game and as an expansion pack for RACE 07 owners.

“STCC will be a year-round-sport when we finally can drive on our Swedish circuits with our Swedish teams. To create a game with SimBin, who is one of the world’s leading developers of racing games, makes it possible for us to create a virtual representation of STCC that will be incredibly close to it’s real life equivalent, Bob Huzell said, CEO of STCC AB.”

SimBin has under the spring visited all circuits and all test days collecting information and the game is currently in full production, with a continued documentation of the cars taking place on Knutstorp this weekend under the STCC premiere.

“To recreate many of the circuits that I’ve drove myself in my career as a racing driver and which I still thinks are among the funniest after many seasons in international racing has been a dream since 2003 when I founded SimBin, Henrik Roos said, CEO of SimBin Studios. And to make this in cooperation with STCC and their professional concept only makes it even better, Roos continued”

Simbin will be at Knutstorp this weekend with their big simulator park with fifteen simulators in use that will be test driven prior to the season. The goal is to also let spectators drive an early version of the Knutstorp track.

Yes they have been hiding it because they haven't gotten a liscense so I believe ((not positive)) that they are using a modified Lacetti Skin... Don't worry I'm sure there will be some talented artists out there that make the real skins

I think the Merc is pretty accurate from what I can see.

Yes they've had to hide the features like badges etc but looking at this picture:

It seems to be well modelled rather than an adaption of another car. Unfortunately the real STCC car is not that pretty!!

The Volvo, Peugeot and Audi look good to.

I think it is a real shame that a manufacturer such as Mercedes failed to allow Simbin to include their car in the game. I appreciate that it is a privateer car and its not known for running near the front, but you would have thought these days that anything like this which would have given them a bit of promotion, when Simbin would have modelled the car 1000 times better than that Mercedes driving game I have seen would have been welcomed.

Its a shame that such a huge company like that is probably too interested in making money to give back a little something to the fans.

To be honest the model is correct or so it looks it's just the skinning like I said, so all we need now is one of our talented modellers to fix the headlights, the Grilling, and the badging

Demo released but no dates on STCC the game release...

I have been following up on the STCC series and noticed that some tracks look quite tight but very promising with elevations. 1 quick questions for those who own the demo/beta version. Do they have the 2006/2007 Mercedes Benz C 200? I've always been anxious to try another RWD platform like the Benz, even if it is slower then the E90.

The STCC Mercedes is in the game. But in a strange way. The manufacturer isn't called Mercedes, but "BMS Incognito". The team and the driver is correct, and so is the livery. But the car is nameless in the menu and the bodywork appearance is close but not 100% the actual Mercedes. I'm sure it sounds and handles like it should, however.

The headlights on that merc are quite different it looks from the actual merc.

Can you actually change the lights texture in skinning? woudl have thought it would be a seperate texture file possibly?

the grill and badges can easily be fixed though

Have heard its not a very quick car so the BMW will probably still beat it
