Spent a little bit of time to edit the super touring cars and the matching tracks.
This includes new track lights settings that works better with the shaders, replacing rmaps of car bodies, export new window textures with more transparency (as glass shader is more reflective) and other similar things.
Car interiors will be a challenge as they will need tweaking to look good.
The settings that worked ok before does not look so good now, some of the shape is lost to reflections. But exteriors look good I think.
Remaster related track packs are still main priority right now, but I think I will update the 98 ST season first to see what it will look like.

Status update
Very little going on for the moment. Or, there are many projects, but very little work.
I like to think about and plan for projects, but not doing the 'work' right now.
I might take a break from that for some time. Sorry for sometimes forgetting to answer messages here at Racedepartment.

Released:

* STCC/TTA mod for Reloaded shaders /Race Remaster

* Extra Race 07 tracks for Reloaded shaders /Race Remaster

Crowne Plaza and Vara Raceway included so far



WIP projects:

* Extra Race 07 tracks update
Imola and Estoril tracks have had most of the updates. A few z-fighting objects and some spectators standing in the air are left to fix.

* STCC 2008 tracks update
Most materials are updated, but there are a lot of z-fighting left to fix.

* Super Touring Track pack
Possibly add a few track side objects

* Misc
Looking in game code now and then for useful things, but mostly just for fun.
Should possibly update wtcc 1987, but it works quite well as it is.
Also testing some shader things (more of the 'simulated physics based' shading), but it is such a huge thing to start editing and make all things consistent and work well with previous updates, so not sure it will result in anything at all. Everything should be more based on material roughness.
More rougness (by specular map or power depending on material) => bigger and softer specular, less cubemap, softer normals shading.

Also updated a little bit of the super touring UI, as the first one looks quite boring now.



Long time/paused projects:

* Super Touring Europe and/or Toca World Touring Cars
- add some of Markano's skins as addon series for Super Touring Seasons mod

* Test track and Alpine climb from Toca2.
- Might continue later, using new shaders and maybe other things I have learnt from Simbin tracks.

* STCC 2003
- Have to balance the performance of the cars and improve the visuals slightly for a more even look.
Haven't decided what to do about car ID's, but will probably reuse ID's, maybe from BTC-T mod.

* Fiesta cup 1998 (Toca 2).
- Exterior is about 90% done. No interior or physics yet, might have to install Toca2 to check for car specs and setup.

* GT3 Huracan
- some exterior details left, then it is time for interior(s) and physics.
 
Finally, ETCC 2002! :D

I don't know why the painters and modders missed the 2002-2004 years. That years has a good skins.
Firstly I'm confused, why you name your images files as 2003-1 and 2003-2, but the skins is a wip 2002 skins, and the BMW has the fender from 2002.

Do you plan to make the RJN Nissan Primera S2000 too? :)
 
It is 2002, the names of the images are not important :p
I have been looking for the 2002 season myself for a long time, so I decided to make it.
The plan was to just make a simple skinpack, but as you can see, the bmw's are of a different version, so I had to make a lot of editing. And the volvos has got some updates too, and the materials are updated.
Then I didn't like the original physics so much, and the first s2000 cars had some different specs anyway, so I started editing. I haven't decided exactly what cars to make, but there is no nissan now.
 
Taking a short break from the ETCC 2002 cars to refresh my eyes and brain.
So nothing new about that mod yet.

Sorting some game contents (made by others) and trying to make them look consistent and as good as I can. It's actually very interesting to try to improve something with quite limited possibilities.
What's made for game and mods:

* Added updated shaders (by Bjarne Hansen)
* GEMFX with own custom settings
* Sorted all my tracks and added missing information
* Fixed specular power to max 1 for a lot of track materials (can be too bright otherwise with the updated shaders)
* Edited track light and fog, makes a big difference actually
* More visible groove for some tracks
* Added some ai tweaks to other cars to make them look less 'robotic' or 'slidey' when racing.

For me these tweaks make Race07 'good enought' to still enjoy :)
