As April comes to a close RaceDepartment have a look at some of the great mods released this month for Assetto Corsa... In the latest of our monthly look into the magical world of mod creation for Assetto Corsa, we have a trawl through some of the incredible car and track releases produced this month by our awesome modding community. From the big and the bold to something altogether different, April has been another pretty impressive month of mods here at RaceDepartment.com... I would again like to take this opportunity to remind you that in no way do RaceDepartment endorse these mods or take any responsibility whatsoever for any issues caused by downloading these files. The idea behind the articles is rather simple, to help throw light on some of the wonderful community content created for our favourite racing simulators. If you feel we have missed out some "must have" content, or want to draw my attention to a project you are working on, please feel free to drop me a PM or leave a message in the comments section below…. Honda Racing Lawn Mower Title: Assetto Corsa Category: Cars / Errr.. lawnmower? Download Link - HERE Latest Release: 18/04/2017 Credits: See download link Well where do I start with this one? It very easily falls into the category of quirky and unique, but actually behind the initial smile and novelty value this little mod actually pulls quite a punch and provides a very interesting driving experience. Built with an eye on quality and despite the mod having been acknowledged as not 100% finished, the Honda Racing Lawn Mower is a very well put together and solid add on vehicle for the game, and easily worth a download even if it is just for the novelty of racing a high performance lawn mower around Mugello...! Ford F350 Stair Truck V1.1 Title: Assetto Corsa Category: Cars / Truck Download Link - HERE Latest Release: 13/04/2017 Credits: See download link Another incredibly unique machine to take out on the track, the slow and heavy F350 is an exceptionally well put together modification that shows a high level of quality throughout it's design on both the 3D model and physics realisation. Looking good regardless of the version selected (you can pick one with the big aircraft stairs or one without), it's the driving experience that really shines with this truck. Despite being incredibly slow, it's a delight to throw the machine into a corner flat chat in third gear and feel the front wheel lift off the tarmac as the rear heavy machine attempts to scrabble round the circuit... brilliant fun! Due to the easy handling and low speeds, this is a great machine for close nose to nose racing online, and another enjoyable distraction from the usual more serious side to sim racing. Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca Title: Assetto Corsa Category: Cars / Road Download Link - HERE Latest Release: 11/04/2017 Credits: See download link A very fine car in real life, the Mustang Boss 302 LS deserves a suitably well put together mod in a modern sim racing title, and this one certainly does the car it's deserved justice in Assetto Corsa. In fact the mod is so good, we actually featured it on the front page of RaceDepartment a few weeks ago (you can read the article HERE). Built to a very high standard indeed, this mod is easily one of those all important "must have" downloads for any serious performance car fan. Built like a tank with fat wheels and a massive engine, this is American engineering at its finest... Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R (BNR32) Title: Assetto Corsa Category: Cars / GT Download Link - HERE Latest Release: 05/04/2017 Credits: See download link One of the iconic SuperGT cars from the early 1990's has finally arrived in Assetto Corsa, and this project sees both the 1990 and 93 version of the Skyline R32 added in what is a very well made modification with a very pleasing end result. Although some rough edges still remain before the car(s) can truly be considered complete, the initial baseline release is an incredibly promising start to the project. High quality 3D model, strong and believable physics and a satisfying noise from that powerful Japanese engine, this is a small step towards further SuperGT car packs coming to Assetto Corsa in future, either by further community releases from independent modding teams and individuals or from the author of this great mod car. L.A. Canyons Title: Assetto Corsa Category: Tracks / Fantasy Download Link - HERE Latest Release: 22/04/2017 Credits: See download link From the same person who is currently at work on the Pacific Highways track mod in AC, L.A. Canyons is another epically large and detailed track for Assetto Corsa that brings real life road racing to the simulation. Running at 42km in length and based on real roads with the LA region , Canyons is a huge project that already starts to show some incredible promise for fans who have an interest in large scale real road locations in Assetto Corsa. One very much to keep an eye on as development progresses... Wakefield Park Title: Assetto Corsa Category: Tracks / Permanent Download Link - HERE Latest Release: 14/04/2017 Credits: See download link Don't be put off by the version 0.2 tag on this track, Wakefield Park is already proving to be a very high quality modification and will quite possibly progress to become one of the more impressive additions to the simulation as development continues. Built from scratch using GPS data obtained during the authors own track day driving at the track, the layout should prove to be highly accurate to the real thing and adds to Assetto Corsa another interesting circuit not usually found within other sim racing games. Mallala Motorsport Park Title: Assetto Corsa Category: Tracks / Permanent Download Link - HERE Latest Release: 10/04/2017 Credits: See download link Another less well known circuit from Australia, Mallala Motorsport Park is an exceptional creation by @Flashcrow considering this project is his first attempt at building a track for Assetto Corsa. Well put together, visually appealing and a good choice of location, this is a highly recommended download and will only get better with future updates. Castle Combe Circuit Title: Assetto Corsa Category: Tracks / Permanent Download Link - HERE Latest Release: 28/03/2017 Credits: See download link A British club racing classic, Castle Combe is one of those easily forgotten about circuits that provide a fantastic experience in almost any of the lower powered cars in Assetto Corsa. Brought to the sim as a conversion from the excellent rFactor 2 version by DIGGA, this version for AC still has a way to go before all the finishing touches have been applied but still remains an incredibly playable modification and worthy of a download. With such an enjoyable track layout, this is surely a mod to keep an eye on as development continues and the people behind the mod work at bringing the track closer to a finished state of release.
