Reverse Out Of Control?

I am useing a wheel and the simple automatic. I can't get a grip on the reverse. Maybe I don't have it set up right. If it goes into reverse,sometimes on it's own, it backs up at a super fast speed and I can't stop it except to turn off the engine, but that doesn't solve the problem. Any ideas?
