RD Formula Pro Series S4 (rFactor)

After all the discussions, I decided to keep everyone better informed on what we are planning for the future. As it stands now, we are already thinking about some changes.

1. Shorter seasons to keep everyone focused. 9 races is too long IMO. It is hard to stay motivated and focused that goes for drivers and the staff (I am tired:)). Most likely we will go back to 7 events from now on. At the end of a Championship people should want more races instead of being glad it is over.

2. Take another look at the points distribution.

3. For the last time, we will use RACE Mak-Corp mod for season 4 (Sept~December 2010). Tracks and dates are still undecided. Several factors will influence that choice: 2010 RL F1 tracks, track is legal, track has not be run in season 3, etc.

4. I will not run season 4!!! As some of you already know, I am taking a 4months sabbatical from real work and RD work. I will be traveling with my family and friends throughout Europe (France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Netherlands are on the schedule for now). Dave, Ivo, Ryan and Will will run the league! I have full confidence it will be well done!!

5. We WILL switch to rFactor(2) in 2011. No mods or details have been decided, but we will also try to form some kind of partnership with FSR.

6. We are considering charging a small entry fee, but it is still completely undecided. The money would be used for the broadcast, servers, etc.. We will use it to make the league better. As of now, me and a few other people cover all the expenses. That money will not be used to buy prizes!!!

That's all I have for now... We will keep u updated when more info comes along!

20 or 30 drivers?

Most likely the Templates of the mod will not be released on time.
So we decided to use default skins this season. So where are thinking:

10 teams, 2 drivers a team so 20 cars
10 teams, 3 drivers a team so 30 cars

Please only vote if your are planning to race the season. :)

30 cars is all good for large grids, but in reality when I used to race rFactor (last year) when we had grid sizes of 24 cars it was very demanding on the computer, and my computer isn't slow... if you were near the rear of the grid you could only see a few rows in front, it made the frame rate drop with very high grid numbers...

but don't get me wrong, racing against 29 other drivers would be awesome!!!

just my 2 cents..

Are you sure about that because I get those problems when I race in STC (wich uses GTR Evo) with a grid of 26 drivers plus 1 safety car, 1 camera man car and 1 commentator car.

about the pc problems....just race with less details m8..... i tested race with the fsone 2008 with 40 cars without problems and i'm sure that this 2009 isn't so different so 30 could not be a problem....and my pc is old now!!! ;)

about the numbers of driver i just voted for 30, i like the idea of a large grid, and i'm sure that in a league race it will be not a so much problem because everyone knows the rules and how to drive safely.....

about teams with 3 drivers or 2..... imho it's not a problem.....i think that also it could be better because you will have 3 drivers for doing test etc instead of 2!!! ;)

We also got in touch with SyncPro used by FSR. It will make everyone's life much easier. No more mismatches, no more install questions, etc... u just press syncup and you will get the latest league updates (tracks, skins, mods, setups, etc...) :)

Dave is setting that up and we should start testing it shortly.
