RaceRoom Racing Experience - Silverstone Announced!

Sector3 Studios have confirmed that work is finally resuming on the studio's recreation of the Silverstone circuit for RaceRoom Racing Experience.

Silverstone has been in the works for some time now, however Sector3 indicated that work had stopped on recreating the circuit in recent months as the studio concentrated its resources on producing the monstrous laserscanned Nordschleife recently released by the team.

No further details regarding when the home of the British Grand Prix will be available in the sim, however it is expected that only the current version of the track will be available, and not historic versions including the famous, and now sadly lost, Bridge corner.

Though I would have loved to get the/a pre 2010 configuration as well, never really liked the current one.

Yeah me too, the 91' configuration was probably my favourite

Still a great track but I do miss Bridge Corner...

It will go nicely with my $300+ content I have already. Personally, I was hoping for different news concerning R3E but I guess that will have to wait.....As much as I like content, I appreciate a well rounded game even more and in order to enjoy that, one needs connectivity if your game is based on it.

It was, but I think this announcement is more of a status update since it was said earlier in the year that Silverstone had been put on the backburner due to the Nordschleife release.

The actual layout is not my favorite track. I like the old one better.
I would also appreciate getting Brands Hatch GP added to the existing Indy track

This. I would love to see Sector3 go out and get the full Brands Hatch GP circuit. maybe get a little Donington GP while they're at it...

I was mentioned ages ago in a dev stream, but its kind of never officially seen the light of day. Now its official, and getting some attention from the devs. At last! Hurray!

Although I actually don't like Silverstone all that much, at least its a new track. That's always a positive.
