After a long period of stealth development RaceDepartment is proud to announce the arrival of ... RaceLog! RaceLog is our in-house developed software application that tracks all your online racing data for various PC racing simulations and translates this information into a state of the art online ranking system.

RaceLog will soon be available to all our licensed members who actively participate in our various PC racing clubs and give them the opportunity to compete against other players in an exciting new online multiplayer environment.

It will bring together a large amount of information for our licensed members, giving them a central place for all things racing. Our new service allows our members to track all their personal best laptimes, practice-, qualification- and raceresults and over time more features will be added.

The keyfeature of RaceLog is to compare where you stand against other players of our community and track the progress of your online career. Your raceresults from various games will be processed after each online race and via an algorithm transformed into an unique ranking score.

Over time this ranking score gives you access to online competitions, pro racing series and maybe you will be crowned the "Fastest Racer" or "Most Consistent Racer" of RaceDepartment by the end of the year and win great prizes!

The rankings will be reset on annually basis and all previous races until today will be discarded so everybody who wishes to participate in our online events can still win the yearly prize.

How does the algorithm work across platforms?

Hampus, we have a process which reads data logs from the various games. The system then processes these files and saves the data into an organized way.

Then our rating engine calculates these values for Ranked Servers (these are denoted with an #R):

1. rating globally over all games and races
2. rating per game over all races for that particular game and
3. rating per game and car class for that particular game and class

For now, the rating is purely based on the race result and drivers are also given negative points for DNF.

Let us know if more explanation is required ;)

Why is it that rankings for game stock car are displayed only in car class "All", whereas when I set the filter to any specific series nothing gets displayed? Does it mean you only raced mixed series so far?
One more question: is it possible to view the possible maximum amount of points to win for a specific race before the actual race?

Most probably F3 is not being mapped yet as a class for GSC, thanks for pointing it out...I'll check it out :) Ratings are also calculated by Game and Class so data will come up.

Hmm, not sure, but I will check it out.

Cheers
