What can you say about this event? it was AWESOME! There was a ton of great racing out there and it was satisfying to see so many guys "racing" instead of "taxi driving!" there were incidents naturally, but the vast majority of the field just battled brilliantly!
@ guys who deserve a BIG PAT on the back for estraordinary efforst has to be Ryan Calln and KEith BArrick.
Ryan stepping in with literally minutes to spare and take on the broadcasters seat was truly great to see. Ryan has been and continues to be a real friend to the American Club events and the ATCC as well! Thanks again Ryo for squeezing in the time to help us out mate!!!!!:wink:
Keith just went ballistic trying to get the broadcast sorted period. there ain;t enough beer in the fridge to bring him out of the MAX STRESS ZONE prior to the race! Seriously, you have not a clue what he went through to bring it LIVE! HAts off KEith there aren;t many like you man!
So now for my recap (from memory) of the racong for me.
I Q'd 13th and was surprised to be that deep actually. I thought top 6 was there for me but I didn;t get a great lap in and was back further than I had hoped.
R1 I got a good start (didn;t everyone? LOL) and let Yuri by to T1. From there it was a matter of racing clean early. I managed to climb a bit before my stop. Had some great battles with Dariusz and Simon and didn;t get the worst of it for a change. I dropped in early and nailed a stop. I come out with clean clear track and a car I KNOW will perform for the other 8 laps. As I cycle by the pits I start creeping up the ladder. I am P7 When I have to avoid a spinning Yuri and Simon? I split them coming off 9 and manage to go P5 and that is where I finished.
R2 Again I am in the good spot and race very hard with Robert and KEith. We cycle through to lap 5 and I dive in to the pits ahead of KEith. I have along stop cuz I DONT call the crew! WTF! YEah I did that saem stupid thing once before when I was 3rd in a race and blew up my result.
When I resume racing I am 22nd...........Well that OK I have most of the field to pit yet and I am clear again to rip laps. I run hard and climb to 8th. I am battling at one point with Adam, Jesper and Simon. I literally drop 3 spots in 45 seconds. It happend that I was out foxing Simon ib a hard battle. entering the Boot Simon oges deep inside and I KNOW he'll just slide wide and I 'll take back the spot. But instead, Simon holds the line but is very very slow off the corner and this brings Adam and Jesper right into the mix. that swhy I like to race the track first and the guy behind me later. OH well I hammer on battling with Simon with 2 to go Simon DISCOS!
I am 7th at the line.
So I raced well on a track I have a TON of time on IRL and in the game. I coul dhave been possibly 3rd overall had I not botched the pit call. oh well lets get the stupid chit out of the way now........:tongue:
Really enjoyable racing guys. I mean teamspeak was so quiet I would have sworn the thing was off! thats just a sick level of intensity!!!!!!!
