Welcome to RaceDepartment's Racing Club for Project CARS! Project CARS can be played on various platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and we'd like to facilitate and encourage our members to post challenging casual events for members by members.

Platform Prefixes
We now use Prefixes (which you will be required to select when creating a new race (thread).

Setting up a race
First of all start with a plan. Post a thread not at the final moment before you want to race but open it a couple of days in advance. Official RD events are always scheduled a week in advance for the highest change on success.

Secondly order your threads properly and try to make it as simple as possible. Not everybody wants to read a wall of text with requirements. Keep it simple, easy and friend.

Contents of a racing club thread
  • Select a prefix for your platform of choice.
  • Thread Title: Car Class @ Track - Date
  • Thread Content: Use the template that will be posted soon.
Good luck and have tons of fun racing and we hope to see you on track soon!

Just a very quick thanks for setting up the event.

I've been having issues with wheel drivers in Windows and the O/S is still demanding that I use the Microsoft ones rather than the Fanatec versions. I can't roll back on O/S updates, the option is not there in my case. The control panel windows don't register any movement in the controls but oddly they worked ok in the game so I just went for it and if I had no controls after a few laps then at least I tried.

Haven't driven the GTE cars before but being an AM supporter I decided to give the Vantage a go.

V8 soundtrack was lovely and I played around with the setup to try and make the back more stable, which on the whole worked ok.

The mistake I made was to fit hard tyres for the race (as I was thinking about going without a stop) but it made the car feel like it was on ice too much, so within a few laps I'd crashed twice already! lol

So I just set about doing hotlaps on softs and having some fun, car was pretty good fun with the setup changes I made and I was making quite good progress but my God those tyres barriers, if you rub them or clip them you end up into the wall pretty hard. Just trying too hard on my part.

I also practiced with the in car controls, being a long pitlane I was able to change the pit strategy before I got to my box so good practice there to...when someone isn't parked in my space...;)

Otherwise I enjoyed the race, sorry if I was very quiet, that's just my personality, I'm always the quiet one! lol.

Will definitely do some multiclass races around here on AI though, really enjoyable track. I wish IMSA would do a deal to get DPi's into PC2 (even as a paid DLC I would pay for it).

I think my best was a 1m 18s and the record for the Vantage was a 1m 15s so still some work to do, some of the corners I could see I needed to carry more speed, some are much faster than you first think, especially turn one, it's just being brave enough on the brakes.

So I've sweeped up what's left of my car and it'll be on EBay later on if anyone's interested...:)

This week it's the rescheduled event that was cancelled a couple of weeks ago.
So we're continuing with our current format: Multi-class racing.
This time at Imola with a dynamic day/night transition!
DLC cars can be used, however owning any DLC content is not required to join.
We will use accelerated time progression to simulate a 12h race.
Join us for great banter and good, fair racing!

All premium members can sign up for this event and we have unlimited slots available so make sure to bring a friend. Sign up below and make sure to tag fellow community members who you think are up for a challenge!
