Positive SimRacing has acquired one of the 12 permanent licenses for participating in the World Championship of Formula SimRacing. This license will boost the consolidation of the team and will open new opportunities in 2013 for drivers prepared to compete with the best sim racers of the world.

The Team has acquired the license of the GT Omega Racing Team, which reached the second place in the team championship in 2012. Nevertheless, Positive SimRacing maintains its actual structure, with Javier Álvarez as CEO, David Pérez as Team Principal and David de las Heras as Corporate Director. Only three official drivers were confirmed before the acquisition of the license, and all of them were destined to the World Series and World Trophy categories. Hence, Positive SimRacing faces the challenge of hiring at least two first class sim racers within the next few months.

While the completion of a strong group of drivers is one of the main challenges of the team, opportunities coming from agreements with associated national competitions and the launching of a Driver Academy focused in young talented drivers will ensure a long term sustainability of the team and a progressive increasing impact on the championship during the next few years.

Two sponsors have confirmed the support of Positive SimRacing until now: EC Sim Hardware and ProDriver Simulator. With the entrance of the team in the World Championship, a third sponsor is expected to be announced during the next weeks. With this policy, the team intends to generate added value in the championship, in their drivers (in particular young talented drivers) and of course, in its private sponsors.
