Plain Round or Grovees Round...?

for Road Cars, BTCC, Rally etc whic is preferred, plain Round or with grooves for thumb palm....?

For me, each has their own use. Smooth round ball for drifting and something textured for racing where you have to be more precise with your shifts.

I have two old steel doorknobs for my shifters. One is slightly polished and the other has grip tape on it.

If I could only have one, I would choose the one with more grip.
