PC crashing - quick race

hi all, game crashes completely when I try a quick race using rift all of a sudden. Worked perfectly until yesterday. Also when I click race on any race type nothing happens until I change a car or increase or decrease pit box. Then hit race and works..
I have completed a fresh install with the same result. Wondering if it's a resolution issue?

Any help would be appreciated
