Pace Car placement

Greetings All,

Can somebody PLEASE explain to me how to get the " Safety Car " to stay in the place I set it. I'm using the latest build (0.8.0.3) of BTB Evo trying to make a track for GTR 2 / GT Legends running on WinXP SP 3.

Regardless of where I place the Pace car, it ALWAYS ends up dead centre in the middle of the track, causing " major safety issues ". I have little editing experience and have no other editing tools available.

Any help tendered would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance

Peeta

The safety car position is still using the rfactor format in the AIW. Once you've positioned the safety car and exported the track simply open the aiw and scroll till you find the following section;

[AUX]
LocationIndex=0
Pos=(190.2495,18.3593,13.7669)
Ori=(-0.0058,4.8029,-0.0097)
LocationIndex=1
Pos=(304.093,17.3046,13.4227)
Ori=(-0.0097,0.1738,-0.0107)

The 1st location, LocationIndex=0, refers to the safety car on the grid and needs to be added to your grid section of the AIW, example:

GridIndex=103
Pos=(190.2495,18.3593,13.7669)
Ori=(-0.0058,4.8029,-0.0097)

Note, GTR2 uses the GridIndex=103 exclusively for the safety car.
For the safety cars position in the pit lane use the 2nd aux values, edit your aiw as follows:

TeamIndex=51
PitPos=(304.093,17.3046,13.4227)
PitOri=(-0.0097,0.1738,-0.0107)
GarPos=(0,0.000,0.000,0.000)
GarOri=(0,0.000,0.000,0.000)
GarPos=(0,0.000,0.000,0.000)
GarOri=(0,0.000,0.000,0.000)
GarPos=(0,0.000,0.000,0.000)
GarOri=(0,0.000,0.000,0.000)

Once again note that GTR2 uses the TeamIndex=51 exclusively for the safety car.
Once you've made these changes its safe to delete the AUX section from the AIW, I also suggest deleting the following line found at the top of the AIW:

auxspots=2

Goresh,

Many many thanks for the clear and concise instructions. Tried it out with great trepidation and was most happily surprised with total success :)

Again, many Thanks
